<p>Salary:</p> <p>$20.42 - $20.42</p> <p>Department:</p> <p>Culture & Recreation, Recreation</p> <p>Division:</p> <p>Aquatics</p> <p>FLSA:</p> <p>Non-Exempt</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>Summer Seasonal Position</p> <p>Must be 17 years old by hire date.</p> <p>$500 BONUS</p> <p>$250 ON FIRST CHECK AND $250 AFTER THE SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE SUMMER SEASONAL ASSIGNMENT</p> <p>This role will be responsible for serving as a pool Lifeguard and teaching program classes.</p> <p>Examples of Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Instructs Water Safety Classes for all age levels and skill abilities and maintains records of these classes. </li><li>Maintains the cleanliness of the locker rooms, pool area, aquatic equipment, and pool water. </li><li>Administers First Aid / CPR when necessary. </li><li>Enforces rules and regulations of the facility. </li><li>Answers questions from the public. </li><li>Acts as Pool Manager in case of absence. </li><li>Conducts or officiates swim meets. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Basic Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>One year related experience and/or training </li><li>High School Diploma (or GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience </li><li>Valid Driver's License </li><li>First Aid/CPR for Professional Rescuers </li><li>Starfish Water Safety Instructor certification </li><li>Starguard Lifeguard Certificate </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Previous experience as a lifeguard </li></ul> <p>The City of Charleston is firmly committed to Equal Employment Opportunity ( EEOC) as a fundamental policy to be implemented and observed in our daily operation.
