Department (OC) WADS - Wadsworth Center Job Description: Responsibilities The Senior Laboratory Technician will assist with performing public health DNA sequencing in the Advanced Genomic Technologies Cluster (AGTC). The incumbent will maintain and operate laboratory equipment, prepare orders for supplies and reagents, and learn new methods and automated technologies to continually improve sequencing services. The incumbent will perform other appropriate related duties. This position will be part of a dynamic team serving the Wadsworth Center's mission in the New York State Department of Health's efforts to protect and promote the health of New York's citizens. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology; OR an Associate's degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology and two years of experience in a laboratory or clinical setting. This position will require the incumbent will meet all Federal requirements for staff who perform clinical testing, including the educational requirements.
