<p>Our client, a reputable long-standing non-profit organization, is seeking a Grant Accountant to join their growing team. The Grant Accountant will possess prior working knowledge in grant accounting and be heavily involved in a large mixture of federal, state, county, private, and public grants management.</p> <p>Salary/Hourly Rate:</p> <p>$60k - $70k</p> <p>Position Overview:</p> <p>The Grant Accountant will be the primary assistant to the Manager of Grant Accounting, reporting directly to them and working alongside them in a collaborative department. This is an incredible opportunity for a Grant Accountant professional to be immersed in month-end close activities. The ideal Grant Accountant candidate will have experience working on month-end close and prior knowledge working with awarding agencies and preparing journal entries.</p> <p>Responsibilities of the Grant Accountant:</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for managing all contract billings in accordance with the funding source and contract requirements. </li><li>Responsible for financial reporting in accordance with grant contracts. </li><li>Prepares and reconciles assigned balance sheets and performs account analysis monthly. </li><li>Assists directly with the preparation of the company's annual budgets. </li><li>Responsible for assisting the grants department by preparing grant proposal budgets and budget narratives as necessary. </li><li>Prepares and enters monthly journal entries, including accruals and reclassifying journal entries as needed. </li><li>Assists in the month-end close and bank reconciliation process. </li><li>Assists with preparing work papers for the annual audit as assigned. </li><li>Maintains work function in accordance with the standard operating procedures and internal controls. </li><li>Works directly with program staff in understanding financial requirements and objectives. </li><li>Examines and evaluates internal methods and procedures for adequacy of controls. </li><li>Ensures departmental compliance with all applicable policies and procedures. </li><li>Establishes and maintains an appropriate network of professional contacts, vendor relationships, and external resources. </li></ul> <p>Required Experience/Skills for the Grant Accountant:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of two (2) years of experience in grant accounting and reporting. </li><li>Proficient experience in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, V/X LOOKUPs, formulas, sum if, etc.). </li><li>Ability to handle several tasks and respond effectively to unexpected changes, requests, and deadline-driven situations. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Experience/Skills for the Grant Accountant:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of two (2) years of experience with federal, state, and county-level grants. </li><li>Proficient experience in SAP Concur and Financial Edge (Blackbaud). </li></ul> <p>Education Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is required. </li></ul> <p>Benefits:</p> <ul> <li>Medical, dental, and vision. </li><li>401(K). </li><li>Competitive PTO policy. </li></ul>
