For more information, visit www.emmanuel.edu.</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>The Department of Mathematics is accepting applications for adjunct faculty to teach 1-2 sections of the following courses:</p> <p>MATH 1101 (Section 02) College Algebra MWF 9-9:50am</p> <p>MATH 1101 (Section 03) College Algebra MWF 10-10:50am</p> <p>MATH 1101 (Section 04) College Algebra MWF 11-11:50am</p> <p>MATH 1117 (Section 02) Introduction to Statistics for Nursing TTh 9:25-10:40am</p> <p>MATH 1117 (Section 03) Introduction to Statistics for Nursing TTh 1:40-2:55pm</p> <p>MATH 1118 (Section 01) Introduction to Statistics with R TTh 10:50-12:05pm, Lab F 12-12:50pm</p> <p>MATH 1118 (Section 02) Introduction to Statistics with R TTh 4:30-5:45pm, Lab F 1-1:50pm</p> <p>MATH 1118 (Section 04) Introduction to Statistics with R MW 6-7:15pm, Lab F 1-1:50pm</p> <p>Course descriptions are below:</p> <p>MATH 1101 College Algebra This course provides a foundation in the skills and concepts of algebra, including linear, quadratic, exponential and logarithmic equations and functions. Applications to real-world problems are emphasized throughout. The course is designed primarily to prepare students for further study in the natural and social sciences.</p> <p>MATH 1117 Introduction to Statistics for Nursing Professionals This is an introductory course in statistics. The objective of this course is to organize, summarize, interpret, and present data using graphical and tabular representations; apply principles of inferential statistics; and assess the validity of statistical conclusions. Students will learn to select and apply appropriate statistical tests and determine reasonable inferences and predictions from a set of data. Topics include descriptive statistics; introduction to probability; probability distributions including normal and t-distributions; confidence intervals; hypothesis testing; correlation and regression; two-way tables and chi-square test. Applications and data sets will be taken from the field of nursing. Course involves regular use of statistical software.</p> <p>MATH 1118 Introduction to Statistics with R This is an introductory course in statistics. The objective of this course is to organize, summarize, interpret, and present data using graphical and tabular representations; apply principles of inferential statistics; and assess the validity of statistical conclusions. Students will learn to select and apply appropriate statistical tests and determine reasonable inferences and predictions from a set of data.
