<p>Reports to: Director of Finance and Operations</p> <p>JOB GOALS: The Transportation Supervisor manages the school district's transportation department, including staff, bus routing, and driver training. Ensuring safe transportation for our students. They serve as a contact for administrators, parents, and students.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.Supervise and evaluate transportation employees. 2.Oversee and coordinate daily transportation routes and serve as a first line of communication with drivers. 3.Schedule and arrange for maintenance, repairs, and inspections to vehicles with outside contractor(s); move the buses to repair locations when required; coordinate with DOT inspectors for inspections. 4.Develop and coordinate bus routes as required using RouteFinder Plus 5.Collaborate with the Special Education to ensure all in-district special education, out-of-district special education, and McKinney-Vento (Homeless) students' transportation needs are met 6.Schedule for substitute bus drivers as needed. 7.Collaborate with the Superintendent during weather events or emergencies to ensure safety and effective communication. 8.Collaborate with school administrators to develop and coordinate field trips, and other extracurricular runs and post as necessary. 9.Manages all aspects of transportation for athletic events, including coordinating schedules with the Athletic Director, assigning and tracking drivers, and arranging transportation with independent companies when needed to ensure timely, safe, and reliable service for student-athlete travel. 10.Processing invoices for outsourced drivers to ensure accurate billing and timely payments. 11.Conduct required periodic safety meetings and implement professional development training for bus drivers. 12.Assist in the development of the annual budget for Transportation. 13.Review and submit timesheets for payroll processing. 14.Prepare and maintain required financial, statistical and production records as required by DESE. 15.Perform routine bus and vehicle maintenance, including cleaning and inspection preparation and perform minor repairs to buses as needed 16.Ensure all current bus drivers' licenses and certificates are valid and current including: Commercial Driver's Licenses, Bus Driver Certificates, Medical Examiner Certificates and where applicable, First Aid/CPR certifications as well as observation reports in compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. 17.Facilitate effective communication with parents, staff and school personnel. 18.Ensure safety standards in compliance with State/Federal laws and insurance regulations, including submission of all reports required by federal and state authorities. 19.May be assigned to fulfill all duties of the position of Bus Driver limited to regularly scheduled morning and afternoon bus routes when no substitutes are available. 20.Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance and Operations</p>
