<p>Position Summary</p> <p>This position is located within the Traffic Analysis and Safety Unit in the Bureau of Traffic Operations. This position coordinates the Traffic Incident Management Enhancement (TIME) and Emergency Transportation Operations (ETO) program activities on a statewide basis. This position will work in close coordination with programmatic support staff, to develop and implement policies and procedures related to safe and efficient incident clearance, incident debriefs, emergency event situational awareness, and evacuation and emergency/alternate route planning activities. This position will need to work closely with regional stakeholders to identify training needs and requirements, develop and facilitate training as needed, and host regional stakeholder meetings.</p> <p>Other position responsibilities include assisting with the development, evaluation, and reporting of program area performance measures (e.g., incident clearance times, secondary crashes), and reviewing traffic incident management plans for improvement projects. This position will require collaboration across multiple agencies and disciplines including the Traffic Management Center (TMC) control room, Division of Transportation System Development (DTSD), Division of State Patrol (DSP), Wisconsin Emergency Management (WEM), TIME Coalition members, first responders, among others.</p> <p>The objective level of this position is Advanced, which will require a Wisconsin PE registration.</p> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>The senior level position is in schedule-range (14-13) with an annual salary of $83,304-$102,398.</p> <p>The advanced level position is in schedule-range (14-13) with an annual salary of $92,768-$112,237.</p> <p>A $3,000 sign-on bonus applies to those who do not have any prior permanent full-time state service in the last five years and agree to remain in the position for one year. The $3,000 will be paid on the first paycheck.</p> <p>Both positions offer excellent benefits. A twelve month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.</p> <p>Job Details</p> <p>This state agency does not sponsor work visas. This state agency is not enrolled in USCIS E-Verify and is not eligible to employ international F-1 students seeking STEM-OPT extension. Any appointment made will be contingent on the applicant being able to prove valid status to work in the United States.</p> <p>Prior to any appointments for position(s) filled from this announcement, candidates may be subject to a comprehensive criminal background check which may include FBI fingerprinting.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>A qualified senior candidate will have the following:</p> <ul> <li>Upon hire, candidate must have graduated from an Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) ABET accredited college or university with a 4-year bachelor's degree (or Master's or PH.D.) in engineering OR have graduated from an Engineer Technology Accreditation Commission (ETAC) accredited college AND hold an Engineering in Training (EIT) certification. </li><li>At least 4 years of engineering experience after receiving their engineering degree from an Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) ABET accredited college or university. </li></ul> <p>A qualified advanced candidate will have the following:</p> <ul> <li>A valid Professional Engineering registration and be able to obtain a Wisconsin PE registration within 3 months if the PE registration is from another state. </li></ul> <p>How To Apply</p> <p>Apply online!
