<p>Job Description:</p> <p>To apply, click here.</p> <p>Located: American Job Center-Willimantic (occassional travel to other regional offices)</p> <p>Full time, 40 hours on-site, with benefits</p> <p>Required qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Human Development, Counseling, Workforce Development, or other relevant degree field plus three years related work experience (will consider equivalent combination of education and experience) </li><li>Ability to thrive within diverse teams and serve people with diverse socioeconomic, racial, and ethnic backgrounds. </li><li>Experience reliably managing calendar of program duties and meeting deadlines. </li><li>Excellent customer service, communication, mediation and de-escalation skills; verbal and written. </li><li>Competency with Microsoft Word and Excel. </li><li>Capacity to complete data-entry tasks utilizing web-based systems, maintain accuracy and efficiency in fast-paced environment. </li><li>Ability to infrequently travel within Eastern Connecticut and occasionally statewide with reliable transportation. </li></ul> <p>Preferred qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Experience in Case Management systems, having been responsible for a caseload of customers, and maintaining requisite data entry. </li><li>Knowledge of One-Stop American Job Center services, partners, and programs. </li><li>Competency in customer assessment techniques and career planning. </li><li>Understanding of person- and/or family-centered and trauma-informed service delivery. </li><li>Public Speaking experience. </li><li>Intermediate user of Google Suite (including: Drive, Docs, Sheets, Voice, and Forms). </li><li>Job development and knowledge of the business community in Eastern Connecticut. </li><li>Outreach and Marketing activities, such as social media page management, tabling events, etc. </li><li>Bilingual preferred: English/Spanish. </li></ul> <p>Position responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>Achieving recruitment and contractual performance goals for the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Adults and Dislocated Worker Grant. </li><li>Coaching eligible job seekers through employment plan action step development, training funding application procedures and job placement activities. </li><li>Providing referrals to human services and community resources. </li><li>Completing basic mathematic equations for balancing budgets, assisting with training-funding applications or requesting support service funding on behalf of job seeking customers. </li><li>Maintaining customer management database and required reporting. </li><li>Guidance to job seekers on knowledge of local job market, training providers, and case management best practices. </li><li>Researching labor market demand and industry/position expectations. </li><li>Updating and editing customer résumés and cover letters. </li></ul> <p>At EASTCONN, we believe that diversity is key to our success.
