<p>Job Title: Test Engineer - ADAS</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>The Test Engineer - ADAS will lead systems engineering and validation activities for ADAS electronic control units (ECUs), with a primary focus on change point analysis and integration for North American vehicle applications. This role analyzes existing systems, develops and updates requirements and specifications, coordinates with global engineering teams and suppliers, and supports validation and verification to ensure high-quality, reliable ADAS functionality.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Perform ADAS ECU systems engineering activities with a primary focus on change point analysis for North American vehicle integration. </li><li>Analyze systems developed overseas to determine which elements remain unchanged and which must be updated for North American applications. </li><li>Coordinate closely with engineering teams in Japan and cross-functional stakeholders in the U.S. to understand and manage change impacts. </li><li>Develop and update system, CAN, diagnostic, and failure detection requirements and specifications. </li><li>Own and execute gap analyses, documenting updates using Excel, PowerPoint, PDFs, and internal CAN and change point tools. </li><li>Create clear, supplier-ready requirements and specifications, while not being responsible for software implementation or ECU hardware design. </li><li>Track supplier software deliveries and ensure alignment with submitted requirements, specifications, and project schedules. </li><li>Support validation and verification activities once software is returned from suppliers. </li><li>Develop validation test plans, execute selected bench and vehicle tests, and coordinate vehicle testing activities with technicians. </li><li>Analyze test results, make preliminary technical judgments, and present findings for evaluator review and approval. </li><li>Support bench and automated testing using Vector tools and VT System benches. </li><li>Participate in system verification events, MARU Q milestones, and other formal review and approval activities. </li><li>Provide project execution support including schedule awareness, milestone readiness, status updates, and review documentation. </li><li>Contribute to ECU validation and system integration efforts, ensuring robust diagnostic and failure detection performance. </li><li>Maintain strong documentation and communication to keep stakeholders informed of requirements, changes, risks, and test outcomes. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>3-5 years of automotive systems engineering experience supporting ADAS, ECU, FICU, or similar embedded automotive systems. </li><li>Experience working across the V-model lifecycle, including requirements definition, specification development, and validation activities. </li><li>Strong background in requirements development, gap analysis, and change point evaluation. </li><li>Hands-on experience with bench and/or vehicle testing environments. </li><li>Familiarity with Vector tools such as CANoe, CANalyzer, and VT System for validation and testing. </li><li>Practical knowledge of ADAS ECU systems (non-algorithm focused). </li><li>Understanding of basic software (BSW) in embedded automotive systems. </li><li>Knowledge of diagnostics and failure detection concepts and practices. </li><li>Experience with CAN communication and specifications. </li><li>Experience with ECU validation and system integration. </li><li>Ability to work effectively with global teams, particularly with Japan-based engineering counterparts. </li><li>Strong documentation, analytical, and written and verbal communication skills. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience using test equipment related to ADAS and ECU validation. </li><li>Exposure to hardware design software in an automotive or embedded systems context. </li><li>Ability to translate complex technical requirements into clear, supplier-ready specifications. </li><li>Comfort working in a structured, milestone-driven environment with formal review processes. </li><li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when managing change points, requirements, and test artifacts. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>The role operates in a professional automotive engineering environment focused on advanced driver assistance systems and ECU integration. You will work closely with global engineering teams, including frequent collaboration with Japan-based counterparts, and coordinate activities with cross-functional stakeholders and technicians. The position involves a mix of office-based work for requirements development and documentation, as well as hands-on work in bench and vehicle testing environments. You will regularly use tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, PDFs, internal CAN and change point tools, and Vector tools including CANoe, CANalyzer, and VT System benches. The work follows a structured V-model development process with defined milestones, formal verification events, and review activities, emphasizing quality, precision, and clear communication.</p> <p>Job Type & Location</p> <p>This is a Contract position based out of Raymond, OH.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.</p> <p>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
