<p>HEAD TEACHER-EHS CONNECTIONS PROGRAM</p> <p>The Head Teacher shall be the employee member of the school staff designated by the</p> <p>Superintendent of Schools to assist in the administration of the department or program.</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Five years' experience in Education. </li><li>Massachusetts State Certification in special education (9-12), guidance counselor, school adjustment counselor, or related field. </li><li>SEI endorsement. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Master's Degree in School Administration from an accredited institution. </li><li>Massachusetts State Certification as a Principal/Assistant Principal. </li></ul> <p>Candidates should possess:</p> <ul> <li>The ability to support a comprehensive alternative program at the high school that supports students in need. </li><li>The ability to develop the full potential of a highly competent staff. </li><li>A strong background in curriculum with experience in program design, evaluation, and management. </li><li>A proven record in the management of students and student activities. </li><li>Superior skills in articulating the goals and objectives of the school to the community </li></ul> <p>of Everett.</p> <ul> <li>The ability to articulate the district philosophy to support families of students in crisis or need. </li><li>Knowledge of the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and effective teaching </li></ul> <p>strategies.</p> <ul> <li>Advanced computer skills. </li></ul> <p>WORKING TIME:</p> <p>According to the Everett Teachers Association contract.</p> <p>DUTIES:</p> <ul> <li>Implement and supervise curriculum, establish course outlines, and provide education objectives consistent with the community educational goals. </li><li>Employ an efficient system for pupil and program appraisal and make recommendations for changes needed to improve existing programs to meet the needs of students. </li><li>Evaluate student data with the teachers to make informed instructional decisions. that support individual student performance and achievement. </li><li>Support the identification of students for the program in collaboration with school leaders and monitor student progress. </li><li>Collaborate with school leaders to prevent and address bullying and other unsafe behaviors with timely responses and restorative practices. </li><li>Be visible at district and community events. </li><li>Keep families informed about the progress of their child. </li><li>Provide leadership and initiative for organizational improvements. </li><li>Oversee the program's curriculum alignment in accordance with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks. </li><li>Oversee the implementation of all Everett Public Schools district policies. </li><li>Remain current on instructional methods, educational materials, and technology for improving the teaching and learning of all students. </li><li>Perform any other duties and assume other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Superintendent of Schools, Assistant Superintendents, and Principal. </li></ul> <p>GENERAL ADMINISTRATION:</p> <ul> <li>Adhere to all directives of the Superintendent of Schools, Deputy Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, and Principal. </li><li>Counsel building staff as required </li><li>Promote a healthy and safe environment. </li><li>Prepare letters, written reports, and make oral presentations regarding administrative activities. </li><li>Attend and participate in various professional and in-service meetings that enhance </li></ul> <p>the educational goals of the schools, as approved and directed by the Superintendent</p> <ul> <li>Supervise substitute procedures. </li><li>Maintain building inventories of educational materials, furniture, and equipment. </li></ul> <p>Salary:</p> <p>Salary for this position will be in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement</p> <p>between the Everett School Committee and the Everett Teachers Association.</p> <p>The Everett Public Schools, in accordance with its nondiscrimination policies, does not</p> <p>discriminate in its programs, facilities, or employment or educational opportunities on the</p> <p>basis of race, color, age, criminal record (inquiries only), disability, homelessness,</p> <p>sex/gender, gender identity, religion, national origin, ancestry, sexual orientation, genetics</p> <p>or military status, and does not tolerate any form of retaliation, or bias-based intimidation,</p> <p>threat or harassment that demeans individuals' dignity or interferes with their ability to learn or work.</p>
