<p>Pediatrician - Medical Director (Outpatient) Sign-On Bonus - Retention Bonus Full-Time | Weekdays & Limited Saturdays, Light Practice Call MONDAY - FRIDAY 8AM-6PM, SATURDAYS 8AM-4:30PM (URGENT CARE ONLY) Location: New Bedford, MA Practice Type: Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) Lead. New Bedford Community Health (NBCH) is a thriving Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that delivers compassionate, high-quality care to the diverse and underserved families of Greater New Bedford. We are seeking an accomplished and mission-driven Pediatrician - Medical Director to lead our Pediatric Department and help shape the future of community-based pediatric care. The Opportunity Reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer, the Pediatric Medical Director provides both clinical and strategic leadership-balancing hands-on patient care with the vision and management skills required to guide a dynamic and growing team. In this role, you will set the standard for excellence by modeling compassionate, culturally responsive care; mentoring providers; optimizing operational workflows; and advancing initiatives that support NBCH's mission of equitable, accessible, and family-centered healthcare.</p> <p>Leadership Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Strategic Direction: Develop and execute departmental goals that align with NBCH's broader mission, vision, and growth strategy. </li><li>Clinical Oversight: Ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based pediatric care through oversight of provider performance, clinical quality, and patient outcomes. </li><li>Mentorship & Development: Cultivate a supportive and collaborative environment that promotes professional growth and lifelong learning for pediatric staff and trainees. </li><li>Operational Excellence: Establish and maintain systems that streamline care delivery, enhance access, and strengthen patient satisfaction. </li><li>Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with nursing, behavioral health, and operations teams to foster communication, integration, and innovation across service lines. </li><li>Community Engagement: Serve as a visible leader and advocate for children's health within the community and partner organizations. </li></ul> <p>Clinical Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Provide comprehensive outpatient pediatric care, including well and sick visits, immunizations, and management of acute and chronic conditions. </li><li>Conduct physical assessments, diagnostic testing, and follow-up care with an emphasis on education and prevention. </li><li>Champion a family-centered approach to care that empowers parents and caregivers as active participants in their child's health. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>MD or DO with current, unrestricted Medical license. </li><li>Board Certified/Board Eligible in Pediatrics. </li><li>Active DEA and Controlled Substance Registration. </li><li>Current BLS/CPR/PALS certification. </li><li>Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in pediatrics. </li><li>Minimum of 2 years demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience. </li><li>Interest and commitment to community and public health. </li><li>Strong EMR skills ( we use EPIC) </li></ul> <p>What We Offer</p> <ul> <li>Flexible Monday-Friday schedule with limited Saturday rotation </li><li>Light office call </li><li>No hospital rounding or call (light rotation) </li><li>403(b) retirement plan with employer match </li><li>Medical, dental, vision, and disability coverage </li><li>Malpractice coverage under FTCA </li><li>CME allowance with dedicated paid time </li><li>Paid licensure renewals (MA license, DEA, CSR) </li><li>Generous paid time off and 12 paid holidays (40 days) </li><li>Loan repayment eligibility (HRSA, PSLF, Mass League) </li><li>Relocation assistance </li><li>Visa sponsorship (H1/J1) </li><li>Sign-on bonus + retention bonuses </li></ul> <p>Our Culture: We Are PILOTS</p> <p>Patient-Centered.
