The Program is investigating the efficacy and safety of treatments for Major Depressive Disorder while seeking to learn more about the causes and course of this disease. This position will provide invaluable experience for anyone interested in pursuing graduate study in the fields of psychology, public health, or medicine.</p> <p>If you would like to read more about our program, please visit our website at www.depressionmgh.org.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Principal Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <p>Research Coordinators are responsible for managing and coordinating the clinical studies as members of the research team. This involves screening patients for study eligibility, data entry and analysis, manuscript preparation, and clinical laboratory work such as phlebotomy and EKG administration. Research Coordinators will work closely with the physicians and psychologists on staff in managing patient care throughout the studies. Additional responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>Collects & organizes patient data </li><li>Maintains records and databases </li><li>Uses software programs to generate graphs and reports </li><li>Assists with recruiting patients for clinical trials </li><li>Obtains patient study data from medical records, physicians, etc. </li><li>Conducts library searches </li><li>Verifies accuracy of study forms </li><li>Updates study forms per protocol </li><li>Documents patient visits and procedures </li><li>Assists with regulatory binders and QA/QC procedures </li><li>Assists with interviewing study subjects </li><li>Administers and scores questionnaires </li><li>Provides basic explanation of study and in some cases obtains informed consent from subjects </li><li>Performs study procedures, which may include phlebotomy. </li><li>Assists with study regulatory submissions </li><li>Writes consent forms </li><li>Verifies subject inclusion/exclusion criteria </li><li>Performs administrative support duties as required </li></ul> <p>Skills/Abilities/Competencies Required:</p> <ul> <li>Careful attention to details </li><li>Good organizational skills </li><li>Ability to follow directions </li><li>Good communication skills </li><li>Computer literacy </li><li>Working knowledge of clinical research protocols </li><li>Ability to demonstrate respect and professionalism for subjects' rights and individual needs </li></ul> <p>Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:</p> <p>Qualified applicants must have a bachelor's degree, strong writing and organizational skills. Psychology, sociology, and premed majors are encouraged to apply, but all are welcome.
