<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Monitors and controls pedestrian and vehicle traffic, enforces current policy and procedures, and assist in non-routing problems.</p> </li><li> <p>Makes sanitation, safety, and security inspections of all buildings, building contents, grounds and vehicles and corrects or reports shortcomings or deficiencies.</p> </li><li> <p>Supervises and verifies accuracy of scheduled visitors and functions to ensure only authorized personnel are permitted to enter complex.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensures escorts are provided when necessary for emergency personnel or special groups or functions.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitors inmate movement within the area.</p> </li><li> <p>Remains thoroughly familiar with search, contraband, emergencies, escape & use of force policies as they may relate to the front gate.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform all job duties as directed by Sergeant and above in administrating the operation of the front gate.</p> </li><li> <p>Be knowledgeable of the scanning logging and accountability of processing all visitors and staff through the front gate.</p> </li><li> <p>Be knowledgeable of the procedures during Parole of visitors & inmates.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs all marginal or related duties as Correctional Officer as required by supervisor.</p> </li></ul> <p>1 Position Available</p> <p>Questions regarding the application process, this job posting or any other postings with the SCDC should be directed to:</p> <p>Recruiting and Employment Services(803) 896-1649</p> <p>Employment@doc.sc.gov</p> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <ul> <li>U.S. Citizen. </li><li>18 and over. </li><li>High school diploma or GED. </li><li>Valid driver's license. </li><li>Tattoos: Must not be offensive and/or gang related or visibly located on the face or head.
