<p>Position DetailsReq IDreq1970Job Title METROLOGY TECHNICIAN ADivision CorporateShiftThird ShiftJob SummaryJob Summary</p> <p>Applies basic to advanced technical skills and knowledge to operate Metrology equipment to perform inspection, data gathering, reverse engineering and data analysis functions on tools and parts and components for operational aircraft applications. Performs any of the detailed work operations required to be completed in these areas.</p> <p>Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Performs tasks that are moderately complex to complex requiring some skill, experience and judgment to complete. Determines plans and actions from standard procedural alternatives. </li><li>Performs the required programming, preparation, setup and operation of Metrology equipment such as measurement arms and laser scanners/radars that is varied and moderately complex to complex in scope. The level of work requires experience and sound judgment. </li><li>Reads and interprets engineering drawings and tools designs which allow for the inspection of fabricated parts and manufactured tooling. </li><li>Utilizes Metrology equipment software application packages to collect two (2) and three (3) dimensional data of actual parts and tools for inspection, analysis comparison or reverse engineering. </li><li>Inspects new and reworked tools using Metrology equipment for tool buy-off purposes calibration and/or benchmarking purposes. Maintains proper documentation for inspections, calibrations and part sampling. </li><li>Maintain, troubleshoot and repair of Metrology equipment, conducts calibrations on Metrology equipment. </li><li>Coordinates with tooling and other departments to assure scheduling of work will support production schedules and to provide adequate notice when schedules are revised. </li></ul> <p>Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications and departments other than the primary assignment.Minimum QualificationsEducation Requirements</p> <p>Minimum High School or GED.</p> <p>If applicable, a combination of experience and training may be substituted for the education requirement.</p> <p>Experience Requirements</p> <p>4 year(s) Inspector in aerospace manufacturing using standard inspection tools, equipment and processes.</p> <p>Skills and Competencies</p> <ul> <li>Operates standard office equipment and demonstrates competence in the use of standard software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel. </li><li>Demonstrates ability to use of software applications such as SA and Catia. </li><li>Ability to use the following equipment:Laser Tracker, Faro Arm, Faro Scanner, Micro Height Gage, Nikon Laser Radar. </li></ul> <p>Skills and Work RequirementsPhysical RequirementsPhysical Requirements</p> <p>Must be able to work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week, if required.
