<p>Position: Spanish Teacher - Short Term-Substitute</p> <p>Position Type: Temporary Short Term Substitute</p> <p>Department: World Languages</p> <p>Start Date: May 20 - End of Year</p> <p>Location: Watertown High School</p> <p>Reports to: K-12 World Languages Curriculum Coordinator</p> <p>Per Diem Daily Rate: $135/ Per diem for unlicensed candidates, $145/Per diem for licensed candidates</p> <p>THIS IS A SHORT TERM SUB POSITION that is expected to start on 5/20/26 and end on 6/24/2026.</p> <p>POSITION OVERVIEW</p> <ul> <li>Watertown High School seeks a qualified educator to serve as a short-term substitute Spanish teacher. The position requires maintaining a full teaching load, with attendant responsibilities. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)</p> <ul> <li>We seek a collaborative teacher who inspires students and who works effectively and creatively with colleagues. </li><li>Candidates should be passionate about teaching, have strong academic knowledge and facility with a World Languages curriculum, and be able to work well with high school students. </li><li>Watertown is committed to the practice of teaching world languages for proficiency. Candidates should have a strong background in the ACTFL proficiency guidelines and current Massachusetts Standards for teaching a world language. </li><li>Appropriate MA certification and an undergraduate degree in Spanish or a related field are required. </li><li>Candidates should possess both strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with all constituents. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. </li><li>Candidates should fulfill the WHS mission of teaching students to communicate effectively and thoughtfully, justify their reasoning, and consider multiple perspectives. </li><li>The successful candidate will invest in the life of the school by participating in faculty and department meetings, as required.
