Please view our benefits guide here.</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>The City of Greeley is seeking a Water Quality Analyst to join the Quality team. The Water Quality Analyst reports to the Water Quality & Regulatory Compliance Manager and supports the City of Greeley's Water Quality section by overseeing and coordinating water quality monitoring efforts. This role is responsible for planning and managing sampling activities, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures, analyzing data to generate comprehensive reports, and implementing water quality initiatives. Additionally, the Analyst will identify and recommend solutions to maintain regulatory compliance and enhance water quality standards.</p> <p>Experience, Knowledge, Skills:</p> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent </li><li>Possession of a valid driver's license </li><li>Bachelor's degree in environmental science, chemistry, biology, or a related field from an accredited college or university </li><li>At least one (1) year of relevant experience working in a water quality laboratory </li><li>One (1) year of experience using spreadsheets, databases, and word processing software (MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), with advanced knowledge of Excel and basic data analysis required. </li></ul> <p>Preferred</p> <ul> <li> <p>Two (2) plus years of experience working in a water quality laboratory</p> </li><li> <p>Two (2) plus years of experience collecting water samples</p> </li><li> <p>Class D Water Treatment Certification</p> </li><li> <p>Water Distribution Level I Certification</p> </li><li> <p>Water Quality Analyst Certification preferred but not required</p> </li><li> <p>A combination of related education, experience, certifications, and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job may be considered by the hiring authority</p> </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Ability to collect samples, perform analysis, follow quality control and sampling technique procedures in the field </li><li>Ability to read maps and navigate to sampling sites within the City of Greeley </li><li>Ability to understand and interpret regulatory and technical language </li><li>Knowledge of the Colorado Primary Drinking Water Regulations and laboratory instrumentation </li><li>Oral and written communication skills, English language skills, and interpersonal relations skills </li><li>Attention to detail and ability to think critically and solve problems </li><li>Customer service and public relations skills </li><li>Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety procedures </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Plan and coordinate regulatory water quality sampling in the distribution system to meet regulatory deadlines </li><li>Perform field analysis for chlorine residual, temperature, pH, and conductivity in response to customer concerns with drinking water in the home and coordinate with laboratories for additional sample analysis if necessary </li><li>Perform technical reports and presentations for internal teams, partners, and management summarizing findings and recommending actions based on water quality data. </li><li>Develop, implement, and oversee projects related to the monitoring of drinking water and source water quality </li><li>Analyze water quality data, identify trends or anomalies, and prepare detailed reports and regulatory dashboard updates for internal stakeholders </li><li>Serve as an expert for complex customer inquiries and resolve water quality concerns in person, over the phone, and via email </li><li>Update, develop, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality control and assurance protocols for water sample collection and analysis </li><li>Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and provide support during audits and inspections </li><li>Participate in training and certification programs to develop technical expertise </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities: None. This position will have project accountability, without being continually on site and without direct authority over all related employees.
