<p>•Conducts psychological evaluations on in-district and out-of-district students as needed</p> <ul> <li>Provides counseling services as required by student's Individual Education Programs </li><li>Facilitates building based IEP meetings </li><li>Acts as a consultant to staff and parents regarding student learning concerns; and assists in team planning and screening efforts within assigned buildings </li><li>Supports district wide special education programs by providing ongoing consultation to all Special Education programming within assigned schools. </li><li>Possesses knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, regulation, and policies regarding children's special education eligibility and programming. </li><li>Demonstrate knowledge in subject area of Psychological Assessment, IDEA and Chapter 766, and Section 504 regulations </li><li>Guide the learning process toward the achievement of district and school curriculum goals </li><li>Plan instruction based upon explicit goals regarding what students should know and be able to do </li><li>Create or provide learning experiences that develop students' abilities and require the application of thinking skills </li><li>Conduct classroom observations and individual psychological evaluations, and consults with appropriate professionals regarding implications and results. </li><li>Provide direct support to students in a classroom by delivering instruction and ensuring learning through a variety of models and strategies. </li><li>Collect and analyze data to develop and implement programs </li><li>Employ a variety of instructional strategies that consider individual learning styles and performance levels </li><li>Ensure appropriate accommodations to the curriculum, lessons and learning environment. </li><li>Design activities and lessons with multiple levels so that all students both meet their IEP goals, and can access the curriculum. </li><li>Formally and informally assess the student learning to create a comprehensive learning program. </li><li>Set high expectations that are suitable based on student's needs. </li></ul> <p>Family and Community Engagement</p> <ul> <li>Build a partnership with families, encouraging their active participation in students' learning. </li><li>Communicate student progress and development to parents/guardians </li><li>Consults with private and/or public practitioners regarding student progress and/or needs </li><li>Consults and/or counsels with students, school staff, and parents regarding academic and/or personal/social needs; provides information regarding community services available to students; makes appropriate referrals regarding vocational needs of students </li></ul> <p>Professional Culture</p> <ul> <li>Conduct testing and write thorough reports for initial and three year evaluations including cognitive, behavioral, social emotional, and projective testing. </li><li>Maintains accurate records of all psychological services provided. </li><li>Completes clearly written and comprehensive reports which provide practical recommendations. </li><li>Submits all required paperwork within a timely manner, adhering to all federal, state, and local laws and policies. </li><li>Work collaboratively with general education teachers, grade-level teams and other staff, to plan, share student work and ensure that instruction is aligned with identified curriculum and standards. </li><li>Carry out the school's disciplinary code and procedures in a fair and just manner </li><li>Participate in IEP and 504 meetings as required </li><li>Model learning and behavior consistent with the expectations for students </li><li>Attend staff, team, and department meetings as well as serve on staff committees as necessary </li><li>Collaborate with colleagues to improve curriculum and instructional effectiveness for all students </li><li>Complete required Medicaid documentation according to state regulations for services provided. </li></ul>
