EXCELLENT BENEFITS INCLUDING:</p> <ul> <li>Paid vacation, sick time & holiday time </li><li>Excellent Health/Dental/Vision benefits </li><li>403B with company match </li><li>Basic Life Insurance provided at no cost </li><li>Flexible Spending Account </li><li>Employee Assistance Program </li><li>Tuition Assistance </li></ul> <p>Benefits are prorated for part-time positions</p> <p>Duties/Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Primary responsibility is infection control.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain sterile technique.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform all duties according to procedure.</p> </li><li> <p>Cleans, sterilizes, packages and assembles instrument sets.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in care and handling of equipment. i.e., suction, fracture frames, pumps, venodyne, etc. (as delineated for Equipment Control Coordinator).</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for cleaning reusable items including surgical pieces and processing through steam sterilizers, gas sterilizers, washer sterilizers, and ultrasonic if necessary.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for waste disposal and decontamination of contaminated items.</p> </li><li> <p>Inspects equipment and instruments through all procedural steps for condition and operation.</p> </li><li> <p>Collects soiled instruments, kits, equipment, etc. for processing.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for daily maintenance and housekeeping duties on work stations as required.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists in collection of data for Quality Assurance Programs, ongoing.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates planning and organization in preparation for procedures in a Central Sterile environment, i.e., trays, instruments sets.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of sterile technique.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates a working knowledge in the following areas in a surgical preparation environment: vascular, ophthalmic, laparoscopic, orthopedic, O.B./Gynecology, General, Urology, Dental, E.N.T., neuro and plastic.</p> </li><li> <p>Participates in ongoing education programs.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates knowledge the function and operation of equipment in a Central Sterile environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Attends/completes Job Certification Program and documents all hospital mandatory in-service programs, i.e., fire, safety, infection control, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Growth potential for surgical case carts, sterilization containers, and CSR-computerized application.</p> </li></ul> <p>It is understood that this is a summary of key job functions and does not include every detail of the job that may reasonably be required.</p> <p>Education/Experience Required:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Ability to read and write and verbalize English</p> </li><li> <p>HS Diploma or equivalent</p> </li></ul> <p>Registration/Certification:</p> <ul> <li>Certified Central Service Technician (CRCST) issued by International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materials Management (IAHCSMM) </li></ul> <p>Physical/Environmental Requirements</p> <p>This job requires frequent bending, carrying, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, stooping, walking and lifting over 10 lbs. There will be occasional need for climbing stairs, lifting in excess of 50 - 100 lbs and sitting. Constant use of hearing, sight and speech. Frequent use of smell and touch. Frequent keyboard and telephone use.
