<p>General Job Information</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>This position is in the District of Columbia (District), Department of For Hire Vehicles (DFHV), Information Technology Division.</p> <p>The mission of DFHV is to protect the public interest by regulating the vehicle-for-hire industry to allow the residents and visitors of the District of Columbia to have safe, affordable, and accessible transportation options.</p> <p>The incumbent in this position serves as a senior level IT Specialist with responsibilities to plan and administer agency wide hardware and software infrastructures including updating and troubleshooting software issues in cloud computing, desktops, laptops, and mobile systems issued to agency staff. The IT Specialist creates, administers, and maintains various employee accounts on multiple platforms and ensures all agency hardware and systems and its accompanying software are maintained and updated, and are working optimally.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities</p> <p>The incumbent will provide technical guidance and support for issues related to employees' computers, phones, peripheral equipment, computer accounts, and computer software. Hardware includes, but is not limited to, laptops running the Windows operating system, Apple iPhones, Samsung Android phones, Dell monitors, and various network printers, among others.Responds in a timely manner to employees' support requests in person, over the phone, or over Microsoft Teams. Creates, updates, and closes ServiceNow tickets for support requests from agency employees.</p> <p>Configures and issues computer and phone equipment for new employees. Tracks these issuances in the agency's inventory system. Handles employees' on- and off-boarding for IT equipment and system setup. Distributes and collects equipment ensuring inventory records are accurately maintained. Maintains the agency's employee roster and uses Cayosoft tool to assign and suspend licenses. Coordinates and arranges for the surplus disposition of unneeded equipment. Configures equipment to connect to the wired ethernet and Wi-Fi. Configures equipment to connect to various network printers throughout the office.</p> <p>Qualifications and Education</p> <p>Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the Fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.</p> <p>OR</p> <p>Individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.</p> </li><li> <p>Customer Service - Works with clients and customers.</p> </li><li> <p>Oral Communication - Expresses information to individuals or groups effectively.</p> </li><li> <p>Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information.</p> </li></ol> <p>AND</p> <p>Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the position and has equipped the individual with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, the incumbent must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression.</p> <p>Licenses and Certifications</p> <p>None</p> <p>Working Conditions/Environment</p> <p>The work is sedentary is performed in an office setting.</p> <p>Other Significant Facts</p> <p>Tour of Duty: 8:15 AM-4:45 PM</p> <p>Pay Plan, Series and Grade: CS-2210-13</p> <p>Salary Range: $93,069-$119,916</p> <p>Promotion Potential: No known promotion potential</p> <p>Collective Bargaining Unit: This position is not covered under a collective bargaining agreement.</p> <p>Position Designation: This position is designated as security-sensitive, under the guideline of the DC Personnel Manual. Incumbents of this position are subject to enhanced suitability screening pursuant to Chapter 4 of DC personnel regulations.
