<p>Job Description Summary</p> <p>Organization's Summary Statement:</p> <p>The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) is accepting resumes for experienced and highly motivated applicants for a full-time, twelve-month, non-tenure track position to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a range of general, airframe, and powerplant courses in accordance with FAA regulations and the school's curriculum. This role</p> <p>requires excellent communication skills, strong technical knowledge, and a passion for educating the next generation of aviation maintenance professionals.</p> <p>The University of Maryland Eastern Shore will be starting an FAA Part 147 Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT) Program dedicated to providing the highest quality education and training for future aviation maintenance professionals. The AMT Lecturers will:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans, lectures, and practical </li></ul> <p>demonstrations in general, airframe, and powerplant subject areas.</p> <ul> <li>Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback to ensure </li></ul> <p>mastery of course material and FAA certification requirements.</p> <ul> <li>Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and </li></ul> <p>progress.</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with other instructors and staff to continually assess and </li></ul> <p>improve the curriculum, ensuring it remains up to date with industry</p> <p>standards and best practices.</p> <ul> <li>Stay current on developments in aviation maintenance and safety, including </li></ul> <p>new technologies, regulations, and industry trends.</p> <ul> <li>Assist in the maintenance and organization of classrooms, labs, and </li></ul> <p>equipment.</p> <ul> <li>Participate in professional development opportunities, including industry </li></ul> <p>conferences, workshops, and training sessions.</p> <ul> <li>Represent the school at recruitment events, industry functions, and other </li></ul> <p>public-facing engagements and provide guidance and support to students</p> <p>in their career planning and job search efforts.</p> <ul> <li>Performs other related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree and minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in </li></ul> <p>aviation maintenance. More than 8 years of Aviation Maintenance</p> <p>Technician Professional Experience within the last 10</p> <p>years may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.</p> <ul> <li>In-depth knowledge of FAA regulations, including Part 147 and Part 65 </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <ul> <li>May require extended periods of standing, bending, sitting at desk. </li><li>May require lifting up to 25 lbs. </li><li>Requires communication with a variety of constituents externally and </li></ul> <p>internally.</p> <ul> <li>Requires operation of a variety of office equipment. </li></ul> <p>Preferences:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree. </li><li>Prior teaching or training experience in a related field. </li><li>Additional FAA or industry certifications and ratings. </li></ul> <p>Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to explain </li></ul> <p>complex concepts in a clear and engaging manner.</p> <ul> <li>Excellent interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to build rapport </li></ul> <p>with students and colleagues.
