Were seeking a Senior Accountant who is passionate about nonprofit work, committed to financial integrity, and eager to support programs that expand access to essential care.</p> <p>In this key role, youll manage grant compliance, financial reporting, and accounting functions that ensure resources reach the individuals and families who need them most.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>Accounting & Financial Operations</p> <ul> <li>Prepare and process monthly journal entries </li><li>Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations </li><li>Support Medicare/Medicaid cost reports, the 330 Grant Budget, and UDS reporting </li><li>Lead special accounting projects as needed </li></ul> <p>Grant Compliance & Billing</p> <ul> <li>Prepare accurate, timely Health Center grant invoices and reports </li><li>Submit reimbursement requests with required documentation </li><li>Monitor budget vs. actuals and provide financial projections </li><li>Review accounts receivable and follow up with funding partners </li></ul> <p>Financial Reporting & Analysis</p> <ul> <li>Generate monthly financial reports by grant, location, and department </li><li>Provide ad-hoc financial analysis to leadership </li><li>Communicate financial trends or irregularities to the Director of Finance </li><li>Collaborate with Program Leaders on grant budgets and financial reviews </li></ul> <p>Organizational Support</p> <ul> <li>Participate in the annual budgeting process </li><li>Prepare documentation for state and federal site visits </li><li>Assist with annual audit preparation </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field </li><li>Minimum 5 years of nonprofit experience (grant reporting, budgeting, compliance) </li><li>Knowledge of OMB 2 CFR Part 200 </li><li>Proficiency with nonprofit accounting systems (SAGE Intacct preferred) </li><li>Strong understanding of GAAP, especially for FQHC/CMHC environments </li><li>Advanced Microsoft Office skills </li><li>Strong analytical skills and attention to detail </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience in nonprofit healthcare (FQHC, CMHC) </li><li>Experience in Community Action Programs or wraparound service settings </li></ul> <p>Benefits (Full-Time: 3040 hrs/week)</p> <ul> <li>Medical & dental insurance through BCBSRI with generous employer subsidy </li><li>Supplemental vision insurance </li><li>Healthcare & dependent care FSAs </li><li>403(b) retirement plan with up to 3% employer match </li><li>Employer-paid life insurance and long-term disability </li><li>Generous PTO (vacation, holidays, sick, personal) </li><li>Mileage reimbursement </li><li>Tuition reimbursement </li><li>Employer-paid training and continuing education </li><li>Employee Assistance Program </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <p>Ability to lift up to 25 lbs., operate standard office equipment, and perform computer-based work for extended periods.
