Must be available to work additional hours as needed.</p> <p>Who May Apply?</p> <p>All persons legally authorized to work in the United States</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>The Executive Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the Department Director and staff in various administrative functions.</p> <ul> <li>Perform work activities requiring negotiating, instructing, persuading or communicating with others and successful teamwork. </li><li>Conduct research and compile data for City Council presentations. </li><li>Produce committee or other meeting minutes. </li><li>Compose, type, and edit any internal/external correspondence, PowerPoint presentations, spreadsheets, or reports. </li><li>Track leave on a daily basis by preparing leave request forms. </li><li>Serve as department liaison to the Human Resources Department and provide department staff with accurate information relating to human resources activities. </li><li>Schedule appointments and coordinate meetings ranging from small staff meetings to large public meetings. </li><li>Maintain the Director's calendar. </li><li>Make any travel arrangements as needed for all department staff. </li><li>Field and answer internal/external requests for assistance, complaints, etc. </li><li>Prepare purchase orders when needed and serve as P-card (city credit card) administrator. </li><li>Assist the Department Director with preparing annual department budgets and developing the annual business plan. </li><li>May be asked to perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Requires an Associate's Degree </li><li>Minimum of two (2) years of experience </li><li>A combination of education and pertinent experience may be considered </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and having the ability to learn Microsoft Publisher is an asset </li><li>A valid driver's license is required. Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire </li></ul> <p>Other Information:</p> <p>Benefits</p> <p>The City offers an excellent benefit package that includes:</p> <ul> <li>Texas Municipal Retirement System - the City offers a 2 to 1 match.
