Guided by our values of integrity, respect, accountability and excellence, we use leading science and technology to move fiber-based packaging forward.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>The Operator is responsible for running the BOD Machine, the Hot Melt Glue Station , the BOD and the Rollem BOD machine safely, producing conforming cases and internal packing materials at a high rate of speed to meet production demands with minimal waste. Must complete startup checks and maintain quality consistent with cGMP practices and specifications. Must complete all production documentation. Must communicate with Team Leads , PreMR and crew members to quickly solve any problems. Must complete make readies on the BOD , BOD and Rollem BOD machine efficiently.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Monitor raw material inventories </li><li>Operate lift truck, pallet lifts and pallet jacks. </li><li>Organize finished cases/materials in the rack/row/bin warehouse. </li><li>Communicate with the Planner/Buyers regarding Finishing Spec Sheet Info </li><li>Communicate with the Shipping Dept to receive raw materials and Pre Buy Cases </li><li>Review schedule board / work to list from PreMR to know approximately how much more cases are to make and glue. </li><li>Check and understand all operations of the BOD Machine. </li><li>Able to make machine adjustments in order to maintain machine at safety, quality and production standards </li><li>Promote teamwork within crew to minimize machine downtime </li><li>Check for scrap and quality defects on flat stock; continuously check for quality defects of the finished product </li><li>Must strive to find ways to reduce variability in manufacturing processes to increase quality </li><li>Must do startup check for size and function prior to startup. </li><li>Be willing to try new methods and engage in a problem solving culture </li><li>Be sure work area is kept clean at all times- identifies items in the work area that are no longer used and alerts leadership. Finds ways to label and create visual markings to make tools/parts easy to find and return </li><li>Use and wear all protective gear as required (ear plugs, safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hair nets) </li><li>Make Ready: Set up BOD , BOD and Rollem BOD machine to precise measurements and alignments within allotted time for next production run </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by manager, supervisor, lead person </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Lift up to 25 lbs. regularly, up to 50 lbs intermittently and up to 75 lbs rarely. </li><li>Stand up to 11 hours per day. </li><li>Bend, twist, climb, squat, kneel occasionally throughout the shift. </li><li>Uses hands for simple and power grasping, as well as push, pull and fine manipulation. </li><li>Work at and/or below shoulder level. </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent </li><li>A minimum of one year of operator experience </li><li>Good leadership and communication skills </li><li>The ability to operate BOD , BOD and Rollem BOD machine equipment with proficiency </li><li>The ability to train on operation of BOD , BOD and Rollem BOD machine equipment </li><li>Good organizational and planning skills </li><li>Strong safety orientation and role model for safe behavior </li><li>Teamwork skills </li></ul> <p>Candidates are required to undergo a drug screening after receiving a conditional job offer, but before starting employment.</p> <p>Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, protected veteran status or other characteristics protected by state or federal law.</p>
