<p>SUMMARY: Performs outbound tasks including product demonstrations in trade shows and partner events, assisting marketing in creating collaterals such as feature benefit analysis for sales and partners, datasheets, and white papers. This requires the incumbent to be skilled not only in competitor analysis, market research, and technical writing but also in more business-oriented activities like conducting ROI and analyses on our technology, strategizing how the decision criteria of the customers can be changed so that they buy SATO products as opposed to a competitor's product. Product Marketers are chartered with developing much of the content details for the various SATO departments and users (sales, MarCom, customers/partners, web page population, blogs, etc.). They are also likely the vertical application specialist representing SATO during industry councils (GS1, AIM, and others). Product marketing and product management functions can and do overlap at SATO, and at times, both tasks may be borne by one individual. However, as SATO grows, our need for a dedicated product marketing manager committed to driving brand awareness vehicles to support our customers' efforts in selling SATO is a significant and vital position within the marketing group.</p> <p>DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES*:</p> <ul> <li>Perform competitive reviews and assist marketing in validating competitive product pricing. </li><li>Perform distribution and partner product training and event support. </li><li>Perform brand management and assist in managing the brand image of SATO. </li><li>Collect and detail account (voice of the customer) and application-based product marketing information for material creation. </li><li>Ensure marketing statements on products adhere to marketing ethics (privacy rules, truth in marketing, etc.) </li><li>Support marketing to measure product promotion effectiveness and ROI. </li><li>Spearhead the creation of whitepapers, case studies, success stories, etc. </li><li>Perform competitive research and document for the marketing department. </li><li>Perform marketing segmentation analysis that supports the corporation's marketing research needs. </li><li>Perform and assist in the development of marketing strategies. </li><li>Spearhead marketing in product launch activities </li><li>Be the liaison between Product Management and Marketing in the development of product launch and marketing materials. </li><li>Ensure proper handoff of materials from product management that supports a successful launch of new products and ongoing product updates for customer use. </li><li>Develop and nurture alliances with 3rd party ISV's, HIS, WMS or other mainstream industry-leading software groups and portable computing device groups. </li><li>Monitor and maintain MDF activities in SFDC to ensure measurement, milestones of activities against results </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 5 years' experience in face-to-face field support activities. </li><li>Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or computer science-related fields. </li><li>Practical hands-on experience with CRM and website management tools. </li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Detail-oriented. </li><li>Excellent time management skills and the ability to multitask </li><li>Proficiency in MS Office products, with an emphasis in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word </li><li>Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite </li><li>Willingness to travel 25-35%, overnight and some weekend travel. </li><li>Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues and cross-functional teams, and third-party companies. </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS:</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
