As a nonprofit healthcare organization, we are committed to delivering person-centered care, fostering dignity, and promoting community integration in a nurturing and supportive environment.</p> <p>Our mission-driven team works together to create enriching experiences and meaningful outcomes for the individuals we serve.</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Relief Driver / Direct Care Assistant II (DCA II) is a dual-role position responsible for providing safe, non-medical transportation and direct hands-on care to male and female residents with severe and/or profound developmental disabilities.</p> <p>When assigned as a Driver, the employee provides safe transportation using company vehicles, including passenger vans and wheelchair-accessible vans, while ensuring the health, safety, and dignity of all residents.</p> <p>When not performing driving responsibilities, the employee functions as a Direct Professional Position, providing personal care, implementing individual plans, supporting skill development, and maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.</p> <p>Pay Rates & Available Shifts</p> <p>1st shift (Monday- Friday, 7a-3:30p). Hours may vary based on resident appointment needs. The base pay is $19.75 per hour, with an additional $1.00/hour differential on days as a driver.</p> <p>Essential Job Duties</p> <ul> <li>Safely transport residents using company vehicles (vans, wheelchair vans, shuttles) </li><li>Operate wheelchair lifts and secure mobility devices properly </li><li>Maintain vehicle cleanliness and complete documentation </li><li>Assist residents with daily living needs, personal care, and community outings </li><li>Respond appropriately in emergencies and follow safety procedures </li><li>Provide direct care and supervision to residents in a residential healthcare setting </li><li>Assist with personal hygiene, mobility, feeding, and daily living activities </li><li>Support residents in achieving individual goals and fostering independence </li><li>Follow care plans, policies, and procedures </li><li>Build positive, trusting relationships by upholding confidentiality and dignity </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Must be 21 or older </li><li>Valid Ohio Driver's License (max 5 points) and clean driving record </li><li>Valid auto insurance </li><li>At least 3 years of driving experience </li><li>Able to provide a driver's abstract </li><li>Must pass a BCI/FBI background check and not be on any abuse registries </li><li>Strong attendance record </li><li>Must complete: </li><li>Driving test with Director of Facilities and Safety </li><li>Wheelchair securement training </li><li>CPR & First Aid certification </li></ul> <p>Excellent Benefits</p> <ul> <li>Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage </li><li>Retirement Plan with generous 50% employer match </li><li>Tuition Reimbursement opportunities </li><li>Immediate access to Paid Time Off (PTO) </li><li>Employee Wellness Program with on-site health screenings </li><li>Employee discounts through the ADP LifeSmart program </li></ul> <p>Must successfully pass a background check and drug screen</p> <p>Heinzerling Community is a substance-free workplace and does not accommodate the use of drugs or medical marijuana</p> <p>Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Statement</p> <p>Heinzerling Community is an Equal Opportunity Employer.</p> <p>We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace.
