<p>Responsible for providing general direct and indirect patient care in a clinical setting under the direct supervision of a physician. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure functionality of practice operations to provide excellent patient care. Serves as a patient advocate and assist patients in navigation along the care continuum with the goal of facilitating effective quality care and timeliness, resulting in improved patient satisfaction.</p> <p>Principal Accountabilities:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Handles patient intake, updates medical records, and administers appropriate screening tools.</p> </li><li> <p>Documents appropriate correspondence, assessments, and care in patient's electronic medical records (EMR).</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with walk-in and scheduled clinic visits, ensures verification and recording of clinical data and adherence to quality standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitors environment for compliance with continual accreditation readiness and evaluates practice schedule for changes or updates.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates knowledge of the certified medical assistant scope of practice, incorporating elements of holistic patient-centered and team-based care.</p> </li><li> <p>Guides patients through the health care system and helps patients arrive at scheduled appointments on time.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides emotional support related to the patient's clinical situation in accordance with the patient's plan of care.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with referrals of patients to the appropriate specialist for diagnosis or treatment.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs other related duties as assigned.</p> </li></ol> <p>At Atlantic Health System, our promise to our communities is; Anyone who enters one of our facilities, will receive the highest quality care delivered at the right time, at the right place, and at the right cost.
