Primary administrative responsibilities include program development/management, budget administration, providing supervision and mentoring to part time faculty and coordinating the preparation, approval and implementation of continuing education lesson plans and labs. Instructional responsibilities require a broad-based knowledge of the aviation industry and the ability to develop technical pathways that meet the needs of industry. The Program Director is a member of the full-time staff and reports to the Director of Aviation Programs. This is a teaching position with release time for administrative functions. The program director will be responsible for growth planning for the department working in conjunction with the Director of Aviation.</p> <p>Min Salary Mid Salary Duties/Functions Difficult Challenges Contacts Education Required</p> <ul> <li>Associate's degree in aviation systems or related aviation technology from an institutionally accredited post-secondary institution </li><li>Supervisory experience to include conducting employee evaluations. </li><li>Experience managing under a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulated program. (145, 147, 141, 121 etc.) </li></ul> <p>Education Preferred</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree or higher in aviation or related technical field from an institutionally accredited post-secondary institution </li><li>Non-Destructive Testing and Composite Repair Certification </li><li>Valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Mechanics Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings </li></ul> <p>Experience Required</p> <ul> <li>Five years documented experience in the aviation industry </li><li>Post-secondary teaching and/or industry training experience in any of the following formats: teaching courses, training sessions, conducting professional workshops, or other continuing education seminars. </li></ul> <p>Experience Preferred</p> <ul> <li>Greater than five years of documented aviation experience </li><li>Post-secondary teaching experience in Aviation Manufacturing or related profession </li><li>Experience with assessment of student learning outcomes </li><li>Experience with distance learning and/or alternate instructional delivery systems </li></ul> <p>KSA Required</p> <p>The Instructor shall possess an understanding of and commitment to the nature and role of the Community College, particularly its "open door" policy. He/she shall have demonstrated personal and professional competence for the responsibilities assigned. The Instructor must be able to:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Multi-task</p> </li><li> <p>Supporting the vision and mission of the College</p> </li><li> <p>Adapt to changing procedures, protocols or assignments.</p> </li><li> <p>Create and maintain a learner centered environment</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate effectively</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to effectively implement and apply technology solutions.</p> </li></ol> <p>KSA Preferred Department/Job Specific Requirements</p> <p>Mandatory GTCC Trainings (upon initial hire) and annual updates as required; other required trainings may be added as needed):</p> <ol> <li> <p>Reporting Requirements</p> </li><li> <p>Discrimination & Anti-Harassment (within 30 days of hire; annual refresher thereafter)</p> </li><li> <p>Shooter on Campus (within 30 days of hire; annual refresher thereafter)</p> </li><li> <p>Personal Information Protection (within 30 days of hire; annual refresher thereafter)</p> </li><li> <p>Ethics and Social Responsibility (within 30 days of hire; annual refresher thereafter)</p> </li><li> <p>eLearning Level One in Canvas before the first day of the first semester teaching.</p> </li><li> <p>eLearning Level Two in Canvas for instructors who teach online or hybrid delivery methods before the first day of the first semester teaching in that format.</p> </li></ol> <p>Specific Departmental Requirements:</p> <ol> <li> <p>The individual must meet TSA badging requirements to function in the Airport Operating Area at Piedmont Triad International (PTI) airport.</p> </li><li> <p>Individual must be able to safely operate aircraft and aircraft systems.</p> </li></ol> <p>Physical Demands Posting Type Faculty</p>
