An appropriate, valid driver's license may be required for the position. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Science and Engineering.</p> <p>SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 or equivalent in other pay systems Specialized experience includes testing and evaluating weapon systems and cyber capabilities as well as providing installation and mission support. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.</p> <p>IDEAL CANDIDATE: Must possess a strong background in an engineering discipline (mechanical, electrical, aerospace, etc.) A strong background in test and evaluation methodologies, munitions and weapon systems and excellent communication and collaboration skills is desired.</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Knowledge of test engineering concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, materials, and equipment to effectively apply engineering theories, principles, and concepts to project development and execution.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of aircraft ground systems, and support equipment sufficient to plan, design, test, troubleshoot, evaluate, and oversee the development and/or sustainment of highly complex weapons and/or aircraft systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of the principles of planning and program management; standard acquisition regulations, practices, and procedures; and other engineering disciplines.4. Skill in preparing design concepts, formulating working drawings, expressing proposals, and establishing requirements for technical objectives and characteristics.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and technical accuracy, both orally and in writing as well as work in a professional manner with peers, management, contractors, academia, and other agencies.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to prepare design concepts, convey ideas, and formulate working drawings using computer aided design and drafting programs, and/or project management/scheduling software programs.</p> </li></ol> <p>PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. Degree: Have a Bachelor's Degree in professional engineering from a curriculum (1) in a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineer curriculum; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (beyond first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics; (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.</p> <p>OR</p> <p>B. Education/Experience: Have a combination of education and experience--college level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying professional engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences, and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Professional Registration. Have current registration as a professional engineer.</p> </li><li> <p>Written Test. Have evidence of successfully passing the written test required for professional registration or have successfully passed the Engineer-in-Training (EIT) examination and have completed all the requirements for either (a) a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology (BET) from an accredited college or university that included 60 semester or 90 quarter hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences, or (b) a BET from a program accredited by ABET.</p> </li><li> <p>Specified Academic Courses. Have successfully completed at least 60 semester or 90 quarter hours of courses in the Physical, Mathematical, and Engineering sciences and in Engineering that included the courses specified in "A" above.</p> </li><li> <p>Related Curriculum. Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in engineering technology or in an appropriate professional field, e.g., physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least 1 year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance. Ordinarily there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
