<p>At Ability Beyond, you can be Accepted, Celebrated, & Impactful!</p> <p>Location(s): Groups Homes - Greater Danbury & Bethel</p> <p>Hours: M-F 40 hours FLEX (Hybrid position - ability to work from home and in the field)</p> <p>Pay Rate: $35-40/hour depending on experience</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>The Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) plays a dynamic, independent role delivering impactful medical nutrition therapy to adult individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities in supportive residential group home and day program settings. This role goes beyond day-to-day care - championing nutrition education, leading engaging in-service trainings, and helping shape meaningful nutrition guidelines that truly make a difference.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Provide comprehensive nutrition oversight and coordinate care with heart and purpose, ensuring each individual receives thoughtful, person-centered nutrition support. </li><li>Help our individuals thrive by conducting detailed nutrition assessments, designing individualized nutrition interventions, and empowering staff through practical, hands-on training. </li><li>Build strong relationships with a diverse team - from dedicated direct care staff to interdisciplinary professionals and caregivers - all working together to deliver the best nutrition care possible. </li></ul> <p>Benefits:</p> <ul> <li>Extensive paid training and certification program </li><li>Generous benefit package (medical, dental, vision, pet insurance) </li><li>Paid time off (increases over years of service) </li><li>Self-directed retirement plan options (403B) </li><li>PSLF loan forgiveness eligibility </li><li>Reimbursement for license dues & Academy membership </li><li>Access to an Employee Assistant Program including mental health resources </li><li>Ongoing diversity, equity, inclusion, & belonging initiatives </li><li>A culture of appreciation, respect, and teamwork </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>A full-time RDN - experienced or new to the IDD (Intellectual and Developmental Disability) field of nutrition. </li><li>Bachelor's degree from an accredited college and the Dietetic Internship completed successfully. </li><li>Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist license/certification from the CDR and CD-N </li><li>Experience in determining and managing the nutritional needs of persons with disabilities is desirable. </li><li>Adheres to and promotes the ethical standards of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. </li><li>Ability to work independently and work collaboratively with a team. </li><li>Must also be able to travel to group homes and other locations, as needed (mileage reimbursement is provided). </li><li>Experience working within DDS-certified programs and with developmental disabilities a plus, but if not, we are happy to share our love of IDD nutrition with you. </li></ul> <p>To learn more about Ability Beyond, check out our YouTube Channel:</p> <p>https://www.youtube.com/@abeyonddisability/videos</p>
