<p>Commercial Team Internship - Summer</p> <p>Indiana Packers Corporation (IPC) is a fully integrated retail, foodservice and private label producer of fresh and processed meats based in Delphi, Indiana. With more than 3,100 team members located across 14 different states, we are a big company with a small company culture.</p> <p>Indiana Packers Corporation is in Delphi, Indiana, just 15 minutes away from the greater Lafayette/West Lafayette area, home of Purdue University.</p> <p>Summary:</p> <p>Indiana Packers Corp (Delphi, IN) is currently searching for a committed, deadline-driven Intern to join our Commercial team. The Commercial Intern will complete all tasks assigned by the Manager, which may include: participating in sales calls, food shows and customer presentations, conducting market research, identifying business opportunities, developing product catalogs, supporting our export team, and assisting the Sales department wherever possible. You should be able to take instruction but also work unsupervised when required.</p> <p>To be successful as a Commercial Intern, you should be willing to learn as much about the company as possible and be able to spot opportunities that have been overlooked by others. Outstanding Interns are problem solvers who know the value of building lasting, professional relationships with clients.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Working closely with the Manager or assigned staff member and completing all allocated tasks. </li><li>Conducting desktop research or gathering information through surveys or by speaking to clients and staff. </li><li>Attending and participating in meetings, workshops, events, and exhibitions. </li><li>Working directly with clients, vendors, and suppliers on behalf of the company's managers. </li><li>Updating documents and sales records. </li><li>Reviewing sales performance against sales targets. </li><li>Identifying potential weaknesses and offering improvement suggestions. </li><li>Keeping a log of everything learned and delivering presentations to staff and other stakeholders. </li><li>In collaboration with other Delphi Interns prepare and present a capstone project-compiling all the takeaway from the internship experience </li><li>Assist with getting specification sheets updated and creating a new customer packet/overview of items. </li></ul> <p>Intern Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Currently a full-time student pursuing a bachelor's degree in Sales, Agriculture or similar from an accredited 4-year college or university. </li><li>Driver's license may be required. </li><li>Strong self-motivation. </li><li>Ability to work alone or as part of a team. </li><li>Limited travel is to be expected </li><li>Proficiency in a foreign language would be advantageous. </li><li>Ability to remain calm in fast-paced environments. </li><li>Superb interpersonal skills. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment:</p> <p>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions on the site including exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud and hearing protection is required. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in cold, hot, and outdoor conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust.</p> <p>Physical Demand:</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.</p> <p>The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls, or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support without fatigue. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arms and fingers, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs.
