<p>Application Deadline: August 11th, 2025</p> <p>I: $41,498.70 - $54,756.62II: $43,576.21 - $57,497.86III: $45,752.51 - $60,369.50 Full-Time, Benefitted, Non-Exempt</p> <p>Under general supervision, a Collection Driver I/II/III drives and operates Solid Waste vehicles and equipment to perform solid waste collection, disposal and recycling pickup on primarily residential routes. This position may operate other specialized equipment and assist with disposal and recycling/diversion duties. Ideal candidates will be highly motivated and eager to put their skills to use in a safe and efficient manner while providing excellent customer service. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Drives and operates automated side load trucks on a route to collect solid waste and or recycling; drives between collection points and landfill/recycling center. Assembles, delivers, and repairs carts and dumpsters. Drives and operates a pickup based hook lift truck, drops off containers, picks up full containers and transports to the landfill. Prepare trucks for adverse weather conditions; install chains on tires. Inspect and review condition of truck and equipment, including checking fluid levels, brakes and lights; wash, clean and perform maintenance; refuel, grease, change tires and drain air tanks. Report any issues. Operate a variety of vehicles, tools, and equipment used in the collection and disposal of solid waste including trucks, hand tools and power tools. Observe safety precautions while operating small and large vehicles and equipment. Maintain simple records and logs, and complete reports as necessary. Answer general and basic questions asked by customers on routes in a professional and courteous manner. Escalate as necessary to ensure questions are answered accurately. Assist with litter collection at the landfill. Assist with packaging and or processing of recycling/diversion materials. QUALIFICATIONS (A combination of the following experience and training, or the equivalent of, would be qualifying): Possession of a Commercial Driver's License (Class B minimum) is highly preferred, but at minimum, the ability to obtain a Class B CDL within 6 months. Some experience in heavy truck operation. Special Requirements: Ability to sit, stand, kneel, crouch, squat, stoop, reach, crawl, twist, climb, and lift 75 pounds; exposure to cold, heat, noise, outdoors, vibration, confining work space, mechanical hazards, dust and other allergens; ability to travel to different sites and locations. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.</p> <p>Applicants who are offered an appointment are required to pass a comprehensive background investigation, drug & alcohol screening, and driver license check.
