For more details, please see the attached master agreement.</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Learn and adhere to established policies and procedures of the School District and Special Education Department to ensure that School District standards are enforced.</p> </li><li> <p>Learn and adhere to ethical standards of the profession and seek to develop professionally to ensure educational standards are enforced.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain appropriate and ongoing communication with the building special education case managers, related service providers, and special education coordinators.</p> </li><li> <p>Adhere to the work schedule created with the special education coordinator.</p> </li><li> <p>Work with special education case managers to identify appropriate team members for student's IEP/IFSP meetings, and assign in SPED Forms.</p> </li><li> <p>Work with special education case managers to schedule and track due dates for IEP/IFSP/Evaluation meetings</p> </li><li> <p>Work with special education case managers to complete a SPED Data Requests for students on their caseload</p> </li><li> <p>Assist the special education case managers in HK minutes and Shared Time monthly documentation</p> </li><li> <p>Assist the special education case managers with monitoring special education transportation request forms</p> </li><li> <p>Assist the special education coordinators, case managers, and secretaries in the enrollment process for students throughout the summer and school year.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in the maintenance and retention of accurate student records of all special education due process, including but not limited to IEP/IFSP/Evaluation, progress reports, PWN, SOP, original signatures, testing protocols, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Send out accommodations section of IEP & BSP to teachers</p> </li><li> <p>Run combined reports for buildings quarterly, check for discrepancies and work with case managers to correct discrepancies.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist the Special Education Curriculum Specialist in the inventory, distribution, and maintenance of AT equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Attend appropriate, approved staff development training and building or district staff meetings.</p> </li><li> <p>Track and monitor building Handel with Care certifications</p> </li></ol> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ol> <li> <p>High school degree, GED, or equivalent experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Holds one of the following to meet the Highly Qualified Paraprofessional requirement or will obtain within their probationary period:</p> </li></ol> <ul> <li>At least two years of college credits (usually 60 credits in Minnesota) </li><li>An AA, AS, AAS (or higher) degree </li><li>Obtain the PELSB Paraprofessional Credential </li><li>Passing score of 460 (or higher) on the ParaPro Assessment </li><li>Passing score of 65% (or higher) for the Instructional Support test and 70% (or higher) for the Knowledge and Application test on the Minnesota Service Cooperatives ParaEducator Proctored Test </li></ul> <ol start="3"> <li> <p>The hiring manager reserves the right to request a skills test prior to hire.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to use office equipment. Experience in current office software desirable.</p> </li><li> <p>Training and/or experience in the use of computer equipment may also be required.</p> </li><li> <p>Works well with students, including perceiving and dealing with their functions as it pertains to school performance.</p> </li><li> <p>Willingness to accept and follow direction.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to physically transfer or restrain students.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to maintain accurate and timely records to support special needs student's Individual Educational Plan (IEP).</p> </li><li> <p>Working knowledge of sign language skills (SEE, PSE, and/or ASL) may be required when appropriate.</p> </li><li> <p>First aid skills and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification may also be required.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work overtime including evenings, weekends and holidays.</p> </li></ol> <p>Application Procedure:</p> <p>Apply online</p> <p>Studies have shown that some people are less likely to apply for jobs unless they believe they meet every one of the qualifications as described in a job description.
