<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Budget Title: Budget Control Officer</p> <p>Campus Title: Budget Control Officer</p> <p>Unit: Business Office</p> <p>Professional Rank and Salary: MP-4, $78,000 - $85,000</p> <p>Location: Syracuse</p> <p>Description of Duties:</p> <p>The Business Office at The State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) in Syracuse, NY, invites applications for a Budget Control Officer. This role oversees campus budget management and supports the Business Office's daily operations. Responsibilities include developing and allocating budgets across multiple funding sources, generating financial reports for budget managers, and collaborating with Enrollment Management to forecast revenue and analyze course fees. The position also ensures compliance with expenditure policies, supports cost accounting, reconciles accounts, manages financial transactions, and maintains financial organization. Additionally, it involves preparing reports, providing data-driven insights to leadership, and implementing strategies to enhance budget efficiency and operational effectiveness.</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelors Degree required. </li><li>Experience utilizing Microsoft Office. </li><li>Demonstrated ability multitasking with a strong attention to detail either in a professional or educational setting. </li><li>Ability and willingness to work independently and take an active role in the position. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively, both written and orally </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>MBA, Experience in a higher education setting, </li><li>Experience working at a SUNY higher education system </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>In accordance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act" institutions of higher education are required to prepare an annual report containing information on campus security policies and campus statistics. This report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on-campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by SUNY-ESF; and on property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. The report also includes institutional policies concerning campus security, such as policies concerning sexual assault, and other matters.
