<p>Commercial Kitchen Service Technician</p> <p>New York, NY</p> <p>Employment/FLSA Status: Full-time, Regular, Non-Exempt (Hourly)</p> <p>Sign-On & Retention Bonus</p> <p>$40 to $55 hourly</p> <p>We are hiring a Commercial Refrigeration and Kitchen Equipment Technician to support restaurants, hospitality, and food service operations throughout the New York area.</p> <p>This is a field-based role focused on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial refrigeration systems and kitchen equipment. Due to strong demand in the Boston market, we are offering a competitive compensation package and moving quickly on qualified candidates.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial refrigeration systems and kitchen equipment </li><li>Service equipment including refrigeration, cooking, and ware-washing systems </li><li>Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals </li><li>Communicate with manufacturers for technical support and parts identification </li><li>Install replacement parts and complete repairs efficiently </li><li>Complete service documentation including work orders and inventory tracking </li><li>Maintain a clean and organized service vehicle and tool inventory </li><li>Follow all safety procedures and company standards </li><li>Identify and recommend preventative maintenance or additional services </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <ul> <li>Field-based role with daily travel </li><li>Work in restaurant kitchens, cold storage areas, and mechanical spaces </li><li>On-call rotation required (nights and weekends) </li><li>Occasional overnight travel may be required </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>1+ year of experience in refrigeration, HVAC, appliance repair, or commercial kitchen equipment </li><li>Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills </li><li>Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams </li><li>Valid driver's license with a clean driving record </li><li>Willingness to participate in on-call rotation </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>EPA certification </li><li>CFESA certification </li><li>Experience with commercial refrigeration systems or food service equipment </li><li>Ability to work independently in a field environment </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Ability to lift up to 70 lbs </li><li>Frequent bending, kneeling, and climbing </li><li>Ability to work in hot, cold, wet, and confined environments </li><li>Ability to work at heights and on ladders </li></ul> <p>About Smart Care</p> <p>Smart Care is a national repair and service provider for commercial foodservice, refrigeration, and cold storage equipment.
