The selected candidate will also be responsible for assuring Equal Employment Opportunity Compliance.</p> <p>The incumbent will:</p> <ul> <li>Provide technical assistance to Department staff, consultants, and contractors to achieve or maintain contractual compliance; </li><li>Prepare regular reports of program activities for the agency and other State and Federal agencies; </li><li>Monitor contract activity and progress to ensure contractual compliance; </li><li>Conduct site visits to ensure contractual compliance; </li><li>Meet with contractors to discuss and negotiate solutions regarding steps needed to effect program compliance; </li><li>Perform In-Depth Federal Compliance Reviews; </li><li>Goal Assessment for D/M/WBE/SDVOB and Pre-Letting and Post-Award Waivers: </li><li>Establish preliminary D/M/W/SDVOB project specific goals by analyzing sub-contractible opportunities by using Goal calculator, certification directories, historical data, and drafting waivers; </li><li>Oversee the participation of minority, women-owned, and service- disabled veteran-owned businesses in receiving contracts from publicly funded programs or projects; </li><li>Monitor the compliance of publicly funded project with mandates requiring the participation of Disadvantaged/minority/women-owned, and service-disabled veteran-owned businesses </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department's response to regional and statewide emergency situations.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications Six years of experience in the field of contract compliance, human rights, affirmative action, or minority, women owned, or service-disabled veteran-owned business enterprise, including: planning, developing, implementing, and reviewing programs dealing with minority, women-owned, or service-disabled veteran-owned business enterprise, human rights, affirmative action, minority business program coordination, affirmative action compliance review, or labor relations directly relating to affirmative action; or experience in the development and administration of programs designed to facilitate minority community access to employment or business opportunities in the public or private sector.</p> <p>Substitution:</p> <ul> <li>An Associate's degree in in business, marketing, economics, public administration may substitute for two years of experience. </li><li>A Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, economics, public administration, or public policy may substitute for four years of the experience. </li><li>A Master's degree in business, marketing, economics, public administration, or public policy may substitute for five years of experience. </li></ul> <p>Additional Comments Telecommuting: Opportunities to telecommute will be discussed at interview.</p> <p>_<strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>__</strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></p> <p>The New York State Department of Transportation is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
