<p>Job Summary</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>In addition to the duties on the Family Engagement Liaison Job Description, this position will provide targeted support to our families of students with special needs. This Family Engagement Liaison will assist parents and students in navigating the educational system, ensuring they receive the necessary services and support under the law. Essential Job Functions include those outlined in the Family Engagement Liaison job description, as well as: • Help families navigate the special education process, including referrals, evaluations, IEP meetings, and placement decisions. • Act as a liaison between the school and family to promote collaborative problem-solving. • Connect families with community based resources and/or agencies. • Educate families about their rights. • Facilitate communication and conflict resolution between parents and school personnel utilizing alternative dispute resolution (ADR). • Support the district in responding to parent concerns or complaints • Provide workshops or training sessions for parents, educators, and staff on rights, procedures, and advocacy strategies. • Accompany parents to IEP, Section 504, and other school meetings and provide advice and assistance as needed throughout the process • Attend Community Advisory Committee (CAC) meetings and events. In addition to the education and experience requirements in the Family Engagement Liaison job description, this Family Engagement Liaison must have knowledge of special education law, the ADA and the processes that govern special education proceedings.</p> <p>View Job Description</p> <p>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities could qualify someone for this position.
