<p>Job Description:</p> <p>History Adjunct Pool - all courses</p> <p>Adjunct positions are an "Open Pool" for the upcoming Fall 2025 Academic Year. There may or may not be available openings at this time however, when an opening does occur, the hiring manager will draw from the pool of applicants we have on file on an as needed basis.</p> <p>Adjunct Instructor positions are part-time, semester-to-semester, non-benefited MCCC/MTA/DCE unit positions.</p> <p>SALARY RANGE: $1,397 to $1,688 per credit. Courses can run from one to four credits.</p> <p>GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:</p> <p>GCC's History program provides students with an exploration into human history with an emphasis on social justice to prepare students for transfer to a Bachelors in History. All history faculty are expected to ensure that course content embodies the principles of social justice by including historical narratives that are inclusive. We are particularly interested in instructors to teach: Women's History, World History, and LGBTQ History.</p> <p>EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Conducts classes; </li><li>Prepares for instruction; </li><li>Assesses student performance; </li><li>Provides student assistance by appointment; and </li><li>Attends a limited number of faculty meetings. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS*:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in History, or related field; </li><li>Demonstrated successful experience working with people from diverse social and cultural backgrounds, with a range of academic abilities; </li><li>Demonstrated commitment to the community college mission. </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>At least one year of successful experience teaching history courses at the college level; </li><li>Evidence of successful teaching experience in a community college; and </li><li>Demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in and outside of the classroom. </li><li>EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: </li></ul> <p>Applicants who do not meet the qualifications as stated above are encouraged to put in writing precisely how their background and experience have prepared them with the equivalent combination of education, training and experience required for the responsibilities of this position.</p> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Statement: Greenfield Community College is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
