<p>Description</p> <p>Provide advisement and direction to the College's pre-orientation program (Pre-Camp) including coordinating efforts with early arrival fall athletes and other pre-orientation programs, the College's week long spring programming week and to 50+ student organizations in relation to program selection, implementation, management, operation, implementation, and evaluation. Provide on-going and comprehensive advisor and club training utilizing the CampusGroups platform. Position will also support and advise Class Councils (Sophomore & Junior Class). Support and assist with large scale institutional programs such as Welcome Back weeks, Family Weekend, Senior Week, Admission Open Houses, SOAR programs, etc Will serve as the point person for Office of Student Engagement and Clubs/Organization calendar of events. Create weekly marketing emails and social media posts to actively engage with the student body in addition to creation of assessment tools, and support for student generated programs. Occasional after hour nights and some weekend hours will be required.</p> <p>Actual salaries will vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to degrees attained, experience, and other considerations permitted by law. Comprehensive compensation details, including any additional benefits, will be communicated upon finalization of the employment offer.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Clubs/Organizations:</p> <ul> <li>Provide advisement, direction, assessment and tracking of 50+ student organizations and advisors utilizing the Campus Groups platform. </li><li>Works closely with the SGA & Office for Student Engagement Manager to monitor a budget of approx. $250,000 student fees. </li><li>Provide on-going comprehensive advisor and club training utilizing the CampusGroups platform and other training related to club/organization outreach and success to ensure a vibrant and active community. </li><li>Serve as the point person for the end of the SGA Club/Organization recognition ceremony. In some instances may need to assist clubs/organizations in the absence of a club/org advisor. </li><li>Assist with hiring, training, and assigning tech crew used by clubs and organizations in performance spaces such as Fuller, Judd, Campus Union, etc. </li><li>Evaluate and assess risk management policies, procedures, and issues of campus safety for student programs and events and ensure compliance with institutional policies and procedures, with particular focus on contracting and purchasing policies and procedures. </li></ul> <p>Pre-Camp:</p> <ul> <li>Provide advisement and direction related to the ongoing development and execution of the Pre-Camp program that includes selection, training, and evaluation of leaders and participants and coordination with other early arrival programs (fall student athletes and Community Connections.) </li><li>Serve as the on-site employee during the Pre Camp program & Pre Camp Retreat. </li><li>Financial oversight of Pre Camp budget (Approx. $30,000) and contracts relating to the program. </li><li>Pre Camp Program includes weekly meetings with Pre Camp co-chairs throughout the academic year and weekly pre camp group meetings from Dec.-early May. </li></ul> <p>Advisor for Spring Week & Class Councils (Sophomore/Junior) & Office Events:</p> <ul> <li>Provide advisement to the student organization overseeing all aspects and master calendar of Spring Week (April). </li><li>This position directly works and advises the student group to select and contract entertainment for the college's week long traditional Spring Week. </li><li>The position closely works with FACS, Media services, Athletics, Alumni Office and Campus Life & Inclusion to create a robust week of programs and events for the student body. </li><li>Advise the Sophomore & Junior Class Council. The Class Councils will meet bi-weekly throughout the academic year to address any student concerns and will create events and programs to foster unity for their class. </li><li>Take the lead in creating Office Programming to fit the needs of the ever changing student body. (Late Night Breakfast, live at lunch programming, weekend food trucks, etc.) </li></ul> <p>Communications & Marketing & Office Representation:</p> <ul> <li>Serve as the point person for the Office of Student Engagement for Clubs & Organizations and office calendar of events. </li><li>Create weekly marketing emails and social media posts to actively engage with the student body. </li><li>Represent the Office of Student Engagement on various College committees and assist signature Office programs such as Admissions Open Houses, Family Weekend, Senior Week ,etc. </li><li>Represent Springfield College through professional regional or national associations </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Bachelor's degree required in Higher Education Administration or related field with 1-3 years of directly related experience.</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Ability to identify and secure funding resources and to work within the existing budgets. </li><li>Plan, organize, and direct multiple programs and activities. </li><li>Assess and refer, evaluate programs, conflict mediation and resolution skills, moderate physical effort required and ability to lift more than 50lbs. </li><li>This position must have excellent communication skills and must be able to work with a multitude of offices across campus. This position must have crisis management experience, the ability to work with student groups, and supervises a graduate student within the office. </li><li>Ability to work regular weekend or evening work to provide group advisement and attend events. </li></ul>
