The Stewardship and Ecosystems Section is responsible for all activity associated with the Stewardship Trust, general stewardship of all state trust land, the biodiversity program, and the ecosystem services line-of-business.</p> <p>This posting is only open to residents of the State of Colorado at the time of submitting your application. </p> <p>The Position is responsible for managing state trust land designated into the agency's 300,000-acre Stewardship Trust program, a portfolio of over 100 state trust land properties with important natural values including high priority wildlife habitat, rare plants and plant communities, riparian and wetland areas, beauty, open space of statewide significance, and cultural resources.  Responsibilities include managing the designation of state trust land into and out of the Stewardship Trust, administering associated property records, preparing management plans, conducting public notification, and completing property inspections including the scientific assessment and evaluation of the natural values, flora and fauna, and ecological and functional condition of the various ecosystems. The position prepares site inspection reports, makes scientific conclusions from property evaluations, and makes recommendations on property management to achieve improved stewardship outcomes. The position also presents results and recommendations to the Stewardship and Ecosystem Services Program Manager, the Asst.
