<p>DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Supervise assigned vocational trainees. </li><li>Oversee and perform maintenance and cleaning functions at MAP and report findings and recommendations. </li><li>Ensure compliance with city, state and federal environmental regulations. </li><li>Ensure the periodic maintenance of smoke detectors and fire extinguishers in offices and apartments. </li><li>Arrange and oversee regular exterminator services. </li><li>Perform painting, light plumbing, electrical and general repairs as required. </li><li>Arrange for and oversee outside contractors as directed. </li><li>Maintain contact with building managers of apartments. </li><li>Inventory, purchase and distribute maintenance supplies. </li><li>Coordinate pick up and delivery of purchases. </li><li>Maintain program vehicle. </li><li>Assist with Bronx and Manhattan apartments as needed. </li><li>On call for emergencies. </li><li>Related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>HOURS:</p> <p>Full-time; 35 hours per week</p> <ul> <li>Monday-Friday 9am-5pm </li><li>Requires travel to Brooklyn and Queens apartments, occassional travel to Bronx and Manhattan as needed. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to perform light plumbing, electrical and general repair work. </li><li>High school diploma/GED required. </li><li>Two years maintenance experience. </li><li>Valid driver's license required. </li><li>Basic computer literacy required. </li><li>Vaccination preferred but not required. </li></ul> <p>MAKE AN IMPACT</p> <p>Are you looking to make a positive impact on the lives of those in your community? Come and learn why 95% of BRC employees report that they would recommend BRC as a good place to work, and join us in building a more caring and compassionate city.</p> <p>PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:</p> <p>The Metropolitan Apartment Program (MAP) is a transitional housing program targeting formerly homeless clients who are either mentally ill or dually diagnosed as mentally ill and chemically addicted. Funded by the NYS Office of Mental Health and Medicaid, MAP comprises apartments in Manhattan and the Bronx for 87 clients who can function and thrive in a more independent living environment than a traditional community residence. The mission of MAP is to provide a safe and supportive environment where residents partake of rehabilitation interventions that will assist them in the attainment of their work, social and community living goals.
