Be the difference.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>Performs all duties necessary to operate and maintain boilers and other auxiliary equipment necessary for producing steam for heat and sterilization and chillers for space and equipment cooling for the hospital and associated campus buildings.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li> <p>All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's values: Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference.</p> </li><li> <p>Operates and maintains boilers and chillers at a safe and reliable standard. This includes being proficient at starting, stopping, and switching between boilers as appropriate. Performs and documents periodic checks to ensure operating conditions are within tolerance. Logs must be current and complete for operational data as well as fuel oil consumption.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for performing both unscheduled and preventive maintenance related repairs for all energy facility equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for completing operational procedures with respect to water treatment, boiler, chiller, cooling tower and other energy facility operations. Enter events in daily journal when assigned.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensures blow down and pressure relief valves are operating properly. Also, checks water level controls, water column, relief valves, and water gauge glass float switches for proper operation on a regular basis.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains equipment in a safe and orderly manner and responds to emergency calls. This includes completing work orders in a complete and timely manner to include all housekeeping duties when work is complete.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for maintaining cleanliness in the boiler room(s) or central Facility. This involves keeping the floors washed and clean as well as wiping down and painting equipment regularly to maintain appearance.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensures work is performed with the utmost awareness for safety and hygiene. Also, ensures proper Lock-out Tag-out procedures are being followed.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>Supervisory/Management Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <ul> <li> <p>Education - High School diploma or equivalent OR post-high school diploma/highest degree earned</p> </li><li> <p>Experience - Three (3) years of experience.</p> </li></ul> <p>In Lieu Of</p> <ul> <li> <p>In lieu of experience noted above, one (1) year special training may be considered.</p> </li><li> <p>In lieu of experience noted above, four (4) years apprenticeship may be considered</p> </li></ul> <p>Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses</p> <ul> <li>Power engineer license preferred </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Basic computer skills</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of office equipment (fax/copier)</p> </li><li> <p>Mathematical skills</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of chiller and boiler operation controls, building management software similar to Johnson Controls Metasys</p> </li><li> <p>Proficient in troubleshooting and diagnosing control related repairs.
