<p>Description and Functions</p> <p>Open Until Filled</p> <p>Required to be a member of the Wyoming Air National Guard</p> <p>GENERAL DESCRIPTION:</p> <p>This position provides protection to the Wyoming Air National Guard Installation, all aircraft, personnel, buildings, and resources within the installation.</p> <p>To be eligible, candidates must be enlisted members of the Wyoming Air National Guard or members of the Army National Guard and willing to move to the Air National Guard.</p> <p>Human Resource Contact: Beth Baker / wymdhro@wyo.gov</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level.</p> <ul> <li>Provides entry control to Air National Guard facilities. </li><li>Conducts identification checks of persons and vehicles. </li><li>Maintains logs, records, and security police blotters. </li><li>Monitors base alarm systems. </li><li>Provides security and armed response to weapons and ammo storage areas, restricted and controlled areas, classified vaults, fuel storage facilities, aircraft, helicopter parking ramps, and hangars. </li><li>Investigate suspicious persons or activity detected on or near National Guard facilities. </li><li>Conducts physical security checks of buildings, doors, windows, fence lines, etc. </li><li>Conducts minor investigations into thefts, vandalism, property damage, vehicle accidents, and other law enforcement or security duties. </li><li>Conducts routine checks of alarm systems and responds to alarm activations. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>PREFERENCES/AGENCY REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>Preference will be given to those applicants with military or civilian police, correctional security, or similar security-related employment or those applicants who have attended the Air Force Security Forces Technical Training School.</p> <p>Requiredto obtain and maintain a security clearance (Secret) and Military(Guard)membership.</p> <p>Required to be deployed as a member of the Quick Reactionary Force team, which ispartof a dual federal/state mission.</p> <p>Applicant must pass a personal security investigation and reference check.</p> <p>Applicant must be an enlisted member of the Wyoming Air National Guard.</p> <p>Necessary Special Requirements:</p> <p>Required to meet Air Force Security Forces standards for arming and use of force.</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of industrial security. </li><li>Knowledge of state directives applicable to Wyoming Air National Guard (WY ANG). </li><li>Knowledge of applicable Air Force instructions, manuals, handbooks, and pamphlets. </li><li>Knowledge of WY ANG 153rd SFS/AW instructions, O.I., and plans. </li><li>Knowledge of local laws governing detention. </li><li>Skill in communication and investigation. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Education:</p> <p>High School Diploma or GED</p> <p>Experience:</p> <p>1-2 years of progressive work experience in Security or 1-2 years of military service experience or successful completion of Air Force Security Forces Tech School</p> <p>Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:</p> <p>Must be an enlisted member of the Wyoming Air National Guard or member of the Army National Guard and willing to move to the Air National Guard.</p> <p>Necessary Special Requirements</p> <p>PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Required to pass the Air Force physical fitness test annually. </li><li>The position is currently working 12-hour shifts (4+4 flex). </li></ul> <p>NOTES:</p> <ul> <li>FLSA: Non-Exempt </li></ul> <p>Supplemental Information</p> <p>Click hereto view the State of Wyoming Classification and Pay Structure.</p> <p>URL: http://agency.governmentjobs.com/wyoming/default.cfm</p> <p>The State of Wyoming is an Equal Opportunity Employer and actively supports the ADA and reasonably accommodates qualified applicants with disabilities.</p> <p>Class Specifications are subject to change, please refer to the A & I HRD Website to ensure that you have the most recent version.</p>
