<p>Position Title:</p> <p>Assistant Teaching Professor - Elementary Mathematics Education</p> <p>Appointment Type:</p> <p>Faculty</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>The School of Education (SOE) in the College of Health and Human Sciences at Iowa State University invites applications for a teaching faculty position in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Mathematics at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor with a start date of August 16, 2026. This is a 2-year full-time term faculty position with the possibility for renewal and carries a four course per semester teaching load. Renewal parameters are determined by performance and school need.</p> <p>We seek a dynamic, innovative, and enthusiastic colleague who can support the development of pre-service elementary mathematics teachers. The successful candidate should demonstrate a knowledge of and commitment to equitable and evidence-based mathematics methodology, and experience with professional mathematics documents such as the Iowa Academic Standards or Common Core and NCTM's Effective Practices.</p> <p>Specifically, we are looking for a faculty colleague to: (a) teach undergraduate methods courses in elementary mathematics; (b) teach other courses in our elementary education program, such as undergraduate foundations of education courses; and (c) participate in School of Education service, including program and school-level meetings and committees.</p> <p>Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.
