Full Time Shift Day Work Schedule Summary VP Area President Department 00327 - Athletics Department Location Campus City Salt Lake City, UT Type of Recruitment External Posting Pay Rate Range DOE Close Date 11/05/2025 Priority Review Date (Note - Posting may close at any time) Job Summary</p> <p>University of Utah Athletics Department is currently seeking applicants for a full time Football Performance Dietitian.</p> <p>An excellent benefits package is included (see https://www.hr.utah.edu/benefits/ for a full description of the benefits package.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Job Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Assist in overseeing the performance nutrition needs for football, alongside of the Director of Performance Nutrition- Football </li><li>Conduct new athlete nutrition screenings, and follow up consults </li><li>Develop programming for weight gain, maintain and loss players. </li><li>Work as a member of the Football Sport Performance Team. </li><li>Work as a member of the Performance Nutrition Team, including attending weekly staff meetings, and collaborating on department policies, procedures, and protocols </li><li>Work closely with the Director of Operations for Football and Assistant Director of Operations for football for home and travel nutrition needs. </li><li>Assist Head Chef of Athletic Dining with menu planning and development for the all-athlete dining hall. </li><li>Mentor sports nutrition interns, graduate students, work-study students, and volunteers. </li><li>Manage football volunteer, intern, and work-study schedules, as well as orientating them to the fueling station </li><li>Coordinate game day fueling. </li><li>Attend meals and provide nutrition coaching. </li><li>Coordinate medical nutrition therapy for specialized conditions such as: anemia, celiac disease, diabetes, disordered eating, food allergies, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, injury, illnesses, etc. </li><li>Collaborate with the medical and performance staff for body composition (DXA) testing, conducted by the College of Health </li><li>Develop and present team sports nutrition education sessions. </li><li>Work as a member of the sports nutrition team to develop new protocols and update existing protocols based on current literature. </li><li>Stay up to date on new research in the areas of nutrition and exercise physiology. </li><li>Provide education on banned substances and supplements. </li><li>Understand supplement and feeding bylaws as defined by the NCAA and the BIG12. </li><li>Develop programs to assist athletes with life skills such as cooking, grocery shopping, menu planning and time management. </li><li>Assist with ordering for the sports nutrition department. </li><li>Assist in managing and restocking the football fueling station. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Registered Dietitian with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. </li><li>Current License to practice as a Certified Dietitian in the State of Utah. </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Two years of clinical/practical experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). </li><li>Nutrition Focused Physical Exam (NFPE) Training. </li><li>2+ years of experience working with athletes. </li><li>Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) or eligible. </li><li>Ability to work a non-standard workweek, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays. </li><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills. </li><li>Strong interpersonal skills. </li><li>Excellent time and priority management skills. </li><li>Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments/responsibilities. </li><li>Ability to work as an integral part of the sports nutrition team, football nutrition team, and football staff/coaches. </li></ul> <p>This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements.
