<p>VCA South Shore Weymouth Animal Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic Laboratory Technician for processing laboratory tests and maintenance on laboratory equipment to join our team at our busy, 24-hour emergency/referral/multi-specialty and general practice in South Weymouth, Massachusetts.</p> <p>Are you detail orientated, organized and able to muli-task in a fast-paced environment? If so, this is the position for you.</p> <p>The Laboratory Technician plays a vital role in supporting patient care by maintaining the hospital laboratory and ensuring accurate, timely diagnostic services. The Laboratory Technician processes and tests all types of laboratory specimens; reviews and reports lab results; performs operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation and equipment; acts as resource as needed.</p> <p>Compensation: $20 - $30 / hour based on skill set and experience</p> <p>Lab Technician Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Receive and prepare samples for laboratory analysis and testing </li><li>Process and label samples (blood, urine, fecal, tissue, etc.) </li><li>Responsible for performing moderate and high-complexity testing </li><li>Working knowledge of laboratory equipment </li><li>Familiarity with diagnostic laboratory environment </li><li>Record all data and results </li><li>Maintain all laboratory equipment </li><li>Performs quality control and calibration procedures when indicated and instrument checks </li><li>Inventory control to assure adequate supplies; ordering of chemicals and supplies </li><li>Ensure that all safety guidelines are followed strictly at all times </li><li>Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Google Docs </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>What Makes VCA South Shore Unique?</p> <p>We have an on-site social worker to support you!
