This role plays a key part in maintaining a clean, safe, and food-safe environment in accordance with regulatory and company standards.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Operate forklift and other powered industrial trucks (PIT) to move trash bins, cleaning supplies, and sanitized materials throughout the facility.</p> </li><li> <p>Transport waste and recyclable materials from production areas to designated disposal or compactor zones.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist sanitation team by staging and replenishing cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Support cleaning of production areas, freezers, coolers, and dock areas, including removal of debris or materials.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure all waste and sanitation materials are handled in compliance with food safety standards (GMP, HACCP, SQF).</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain cleanliness and organization of sanitation storage areas.</p> </li><li> <p>Complete daily forklift inspections and basic equipment maintenance checks.</p> </li><li> <p>Follow all safety procedures including use of PPE in cold and wet environments.</p> </li><li> <p>Accurately complete logs, forms, and reports as required.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate with production and warehouse staff to coordinate cleaning and equipment movement.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform other duties as assigned by the Sanitation Supervisor.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>High School Diploma or GED preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Valid forklift certification required (or ability to obtain)</p> </li><li> <p>1+ year of experience operating a forklift, preferably in a food manufacturing or cold storage environment</p> </li><li> <p>Understanding of sanitation procedures and food safety regulations (GMPs, HACCP, SQF)</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work in cold environments (below 40°F, including freezer temperatures) for extended periods</p> </li><li> <p>Able to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, stoop, and stand for long periods</p> </li><li> <p>Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions</p> </li><li> <p>Basic written communication and recordkeeping skills</p> </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Cold, wet, or humid environments (freezer, refrigerated areas)</p> </li><li> <p>Exposure to cleaning chemicals and sanitizers</p> </li><li> <p>Requires use of PPE including gloves, coats, goggles, and boots</p> </li><li> <p>Fast-paced food manufacturing setting with strict hygiene protocols</p> </li></ul> <p>Santa Ana CA 3009</p>
