<p>Job Title/Position: Nutrition Aide/Office Aide</p> <p>Wage/Hour Status: Hourly/At will</p> <p>Evaluator: Director/Principal or Supervisor</p> <p>Site: As assigned</p> <p>Contract Length: 185 Days</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Education: Graduate from a high school or a GED program desired</p> <p>Certification:</p> <ul> <li>May be required to provide a health certificate </li></ul> <p>Special Knowledge and Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Possess basic record keeping skills in counting students accepting lunch </li><li>Ability to follow guidance of the teacher and administrators </li><li>Attention to detail in completing financial records </li><li>Ability to give and receive clear directions in English and in Spanish (desired) </li></ul> <p>Physical abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Be able to lift and carry up to twenty pounds twenty feet </li><li>Ability to stand for at least an hour </li><li>Type and use a computer for spreadsheet and word processing </li><li>Able to sit or walk for extended time </li><li>Demonstrate appropriate etiquette in dealing with others </li></ul> <p>Purpose:</p> <ul> <li>As a nutrition aide, under the direction of an assigned supervisor, performs all tasks for the purposes of serving food items for consumption by students and maintaining facilities in a sanitary condition. </li><li>As an office aide, maintain records in office, collects funds, enters purchase orders and other clerical functions and may be called on to provide instructional services to assigned students, supervise students between classes, at playground, assist in re-teaching as needed and, assist in all actions of the school. </li></ul> <p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>• Has responsibility to work independently under the guidance of staff </li><li>Communicates directions to students and others </li><li>Maintains records in offices, collects funds, records lunch counts, food service inventory and other clerical functions </li><li>May be called on to monitor students between classes, at playground, and other non- instructional actions at the school </li><li>Assists students in the development of learning skills </li><li>Reviews and becomes familiar with textbooks and materials used by students </li><li>Assists in academic activities with selected students either one-on-one or in small groups </li><li>Observes and assesses the students' needs and records relevant data to assess progress </li><li>Develops tutorial strategies with the goal of bringing children to or above their expected academic grade level </li><li>Comply with the employee handbook and the duties assigned, including general clerical, record keeping, maintaining accurate school lunch attendance and other records </li><li>Provide a safe environment </li><li>Report any concerns to the Principal/Superintendent </li><li>Treat all parents, students and staff in a considerate and respectful manner </li><li>Perform other job-related duties as assigned, including acting as a substitute for absent staff </li></ul> <p>Federal employees shall not engage in text messaging (a) when driving GOV, or when driving POV while on official Government business, or (b) when using electronic equipment supplied by the Government while driving.</p>
