Best suited for upper-level juniors or seniors with strong practical experience and expertise in their field.</p> <p>Summary:</p> <p>Provides individual instruction and coaching to supplement classroom learning.</p> <p>Primary Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Student reports directly to Alohalani Housman regarding needs for those tutored.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide feedback to students using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage, motivate, or build confidence in students.</p> </li><li> <p>Teach students study skills, note-taking skills, and test-taking strategies.</p> </li><li> <p>Review class material with students by discussing text, working solutions to problems, or reviewing worksheets or other assignments.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide private instruction to individual or small groups of students to improve academic performance, improve occupational skills, or prepare for academic or occupational tests.</p> </li><li> <p>Assess students' progress throughout tutoring sessions.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>Education</p> <p>Student must be able to read, write, and speak Hawaiian.</p> <p>Lower Division Courses Completed</p> <p>Work Experience</p> <p>6 Months General Work Experience</p> <p>Physical Demands</p> <p>Typical classroom environment.</p> <p>Base Rate Per Hour:</p> <p>14.50</p> <ul> <li>Must exemplify the university Honor Code, including the Dress and Grooming Principles and Expectations </li><li>Preference will be given to students who can work during academic breaks </li></ul>
