<p>Description</p> <p>The St. Louis County Department of Transportation is seeking a Project Manager I, II, or III in the Operations Division. This position is responsible for the Traffic Studies section of Traffic Operations and works out of the District 2 Maintenance Facility in Maryland Heights.</p> <p>The qualifications of the selected individual will determine whether the position is filled at level I, II or III. The starting salary range for each position is:</p> <p>Project Manager I: $55,536 - $66,643</p> <p>Project Manager II $64,188 - $77,022</p> <p>Project Manager III: $68,993 - $82,784</p> <p>Additionally, we offer a competitive benefits package and a generous Paid Time Off (PTO) policy. For more information regarding this program, please visithttps://studentaid.gov/manage-loans/forgiveness-cancellation/public-service.</p> <p>Examples of Duties</p> <ul> <li>Apply principles and practices of traffic engineering to the solution of complex and unusual traffic problems. </li><li>Evaluate highway guardrail needs. </li><li>Perform signal and stop sign warrant calculations. </li><li>Review and analyze data to make recommendations in accordance with the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices. </li><li>Respond to citizen concerns regarding pedestrian and vehicular traffic problems. </li><li>Update the County Traffic Code. </li><li>Represent the department in meetings with municipal and State officials. </li><li>Act as liaison with other Divisions to provide traffic study support services. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Project Manager I: Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, or related Engineering field from an ABET accredited school. Progression to a Project Manager II will occur upon obtaining qualifications for the level II position.</p> <p>Project Manager II: Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering field and should have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE) and be registered as an Engineering Intern with the Missouri Board of Engineers, Architects and Land Surveyors. Progression to a Project Manager III will occur upon obtaining qualifications for the level III position.</p> <p>Project Manager III: Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering field and should be a Registered Professional Engineer by the Missouri Board of Engineers, Architects and Land Surveyors; or a Registered Professional Architect by the Missouri Board of Engineers, Architects and Land Surveyors, and five years of practical experience.</p> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>SELECTION AND APPOINTMENT: A selection committee will evaluate the qualifications of each applicant which will include recentness and appropriateness of the applicant's education and experience, answers to the supplemental questions, results of employment references investigated and any other appropriate information available. The selection committee will admit to the interview only those persons who possess the most job related qualifications and may establish admittance criteria beyond the minimum qualifications stated above.</p> <p>Responses provided to the interview questions listed under the Supplemental Question heading of this posting will comprise 100% of the applicant's earned grade. A candidate must earn a qualifying grade of 70 or more on the interview to be eligible for appointment. Once questions are scored, an email will be sent to the address on file with instructions on how to complete and submit a Conviction Questionnaire. Candidates have 3 days to complete the required questionnaire.</p> <p>The five top ranking candidates, based on the final grade, will be certified to the Department Director/Appointing Authority who will make the final decision.</p> <p>All applicants conditionally offered a merit position will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Screening will be performed by a reputable clinical laboratory.
