The Facilities Technician's primary job function is to make minor building modifications and/or improvements (i.e. add a door, move a wall, paint, etc). This may include repairing and/or maintaining hospital building using hand and power tools and precision measuring and testing instruments while following all safety precautions. Performs other duties as assigned.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or successful completion of an equivalent High School Exam Required </li><li>Certificate of completion of vocational training in carpentry or related field preferred </li></ul> <p>Licensure:</p> <ul> <li>BMVL required (Must maintain eligibility to drive as determined by SOMC's insurance carriers) </li><li>BLS Certification within the first year of employment required </li><li>NFPA 70E (Low Voltage) Certification within 6 months of hire required </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Work related experience required </li><li>One year progressively more responsible related work experience necessary in order to gain knowledge of general construction trades and carpentry skills preferred. </li></ul> <p>JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS</p> <p>The following is a summary of the major job duties of this job. Specific activities may change from time to time.</p> <ol> <li> <p>Performs carpentry installations (cabinets/shelving/furniture repair).</p> </li><li> <p>Performs architectural installation/repair (flooring/painting/dry-walling/wall covering).</p> </li><li> <p>Follows all OSHA guidelines.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicates to all departments impacted by their work projects.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs and/or assists in constructing of temporary barriers to control dust/infection control measures.</p> </li><li> <p>Keeps all surplus material storage areas clean and organized.</p> </li><li> <p>Utilizes work order system.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ol> <p>Thank you for your interest in Southern Ohio Medical Center.
