<p>Job Description</p> <p>To coordinate all responsibilities and tasks associated with inbound and outbound rail movements</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Coordinate all domestic and export shipments </li><li>Prioritize and plan accurate and timely shipments with Sales, Customer Service, Operations, Quality, and Shipping </li><li>Forecast equipment needs; place order/s for equipment; continuously monitor equipment supply </li><li>Print and distribute Bills of Lading (BOLs), Load Cards, and Coil Tags </li><li>Research and resolve questions related to rail shipments </li><li>Facilitate resolution of weight, package, and location issues for rail shipments </li><li>Maintain organized files with all BOLs, export documentation, and shipment paperwork </li><li>Conduct new carrier and vendor setup </li><li>Maintain and conduct Transportation Management System (TMS) training for rail carriers </li><li>Set up preferred carrier allocations </li><li>Assist with cost/rate retrieval and maintenance </li><li>Assist with the negotiation of freight rates </li><li>Monitor industry standards, trends, or practices to identify developments in logistics' planning and execution </li><li>Facilitate timely invoice resolution for carriers and vendors </li><li>Track and minimize demurrage costs </li><li>Initiate and close freight claims for rail shipments </li><li>Obtain Proof of Delivery (POD) Requests </li><li>Publish daily and ad-hoc reports as needed </li><li>Performs other duties as required </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Requirements and Skills:</p> </li><li> <p>Proficient use of the English language in reading, writing, and speaking</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to manage multiple tasks, to set priorities, and to meet deadlines</p> </li><li> <p>Strong organization and analytical skills</p> </li><li> <p>Self-managing; works well with little supervision</p> </li><li> <p>Geographically competent</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to clearly communicate with internal and external parties regarding issues and changes</p> </li><li> <p>Education and Experience:</p> </li><li> <p>Preferred Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or related discipline</p> </li><li> <p>5 to 7 years of related experience with no degree</p> </li><li> <p>Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products</p> </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:</p> <p>Environment is typically in an office setting with a controlled environment. Physical responsibilities do include going into the plant, external locations and scale houses as needed. General work hours are expected with</p> <p>some overtime depending on the workload.</p> <p>Supervisory Responsibility:</p> <p>This position does not supervise others.</p>
